Metro Transit route 3 'Gottingen' was a major route operated by the Nova Scotia Light & Power Company, later the Halifax Transit Corporation, and finally by Metro Transit. Discontinued in 1989, the 3 was a major north-south route operating along Gottingen Street through the north end. The route was discontinued when the route 7 Robie was extended from Barrington northbound along Gottingen Street, forming a U-shaped route on the peninsula.
