The McDonnell Douglas MD-83 is a narrow-body short to medum-haul airliner developed by McDonnell Douglas in the early 1980s. The MD-83 was the third version of the McDonnell Douglas MD-80 family, offering longer range operations compared to the MD-81 and MD-82.
