History
Routes 801 and 802 were introduced to better serve the Montreal Street corridor and the Rideau Heights community, as per the Kingston Transit 2017-2021 service plan. Upon introduction, this route replaced all service to the Montreal Street Park and Ride (local buses now loop within Rideau Heights) and also resulted in a restructuring of service around the Rideau Heights community.
Routes 801 and 802 are planned to be extended west to St. Lawrence College in the near future.
Vehicles
Routes 801 and 802 primarily use New Flyer XD40 and Nova LFS buses painted in the Kingston Express scheme. Rush hour crews may use any 40ft bus in Kingston Transit's fleet.
