Karosa C 744 is a inter-urban articulated bus, which was manufactured by Karosa in Vysoke Myto between 1988 and 1992. It is dimensionally identical to Karosa B741 with an internal layout similar to the Karosa C734 to allow for wider utilisation of spare parts. It is a 3-axle design with the engine located behind the rear driving axle.

There are three sets of double-leaf hinged doors. The front section has two doors with a third located in the rear section. Seats are arranged in a 2+2 configuration with a centre aisle.

The Karosa C744 was produced as an alternative to the Hungarian built Ikarus 280 which were becoming expensive to operate because of problems with spare parts. Prototypes were built in 1983 and 1986 and full production began in 1988. Production totaled 324 and were primarily used for inter-urban services although Ostrava and Bratislava used them in city service. Most surviving C744 buses are now operated by smaller operators.
