72 Hope is a local route operated by Hope Regional Transit System in Hope, BC. [1]

Route Description

Route 72 operates two round trips during AM and PM rush hours 6 days a week. Trips are timed to connect in Agassiz to route 71, which provides service to downtown Chilliwack.

From Pioneer Avenue and Evergreen Drive in Agassiz, buses operate west on Pioneer Street, north on Evergreen Drive, east on Lougheed Highway, north on Seabird Island Road, northeast on Chowat Road, northeast on Highway 7, northeast on Yale First Nation Service Road, northeast on Highway 7, loop at Chawathil Road, east on Highway 7, south on Highway 1 and east on Park Street to 3rd Avenue in Hope. Buses loop in Hope via east on Park Street, south on 6th Avenue, east on Kawkawa Lake Avenue, south on Greenwood Drive, west on Skylark Drive, north on Swallow Place, west on Kawkawa Lake Avenue, south on 7th Avenue, west on Hope Princeton Way, southwest and northwest on Flood Hope Road, east and north on Highway 1, east on Wallace Street and north on 3rd Avenue to Park Street. Buses return to Agassiz via the reverse routing, looping in Agassiz via south on Evergreen Drive, east on Cheam Avenue, north on Park Street, and west on Pioneer Street.

History

  • September 5, 2017: Service introduced as route 22 Hope [2]
  • September 2018: Stop added at Chawathil / Lougheed [3]
  • August 4, 2020: Stop added at Yale FN [4]
  • March 27, 2022: Service renumbered from 22 to 72 as part of the consolidation of route numbers in the Fraser Valley due to the rollout of NextRide [5]
