Halifax Transit Mumford Terminal
|Location||Halifax Shopping Centre|
|Number of routes||13|
Halifax Transit's Mumford Terminal is located on Mumford Road in the parking lot of the Halifax Shopping Centre Annex, a strip mall located across the street from Halifax Shopping Centre itself. West End Mall is also located at the other end of the parking lot.
The terminal is one of the newer ones in the system, as well as one of the largest. The terminal is primarily located on its own private right of way, accessed off of the Halifax Shopping Centre Annex driveway. The terminal consists of a long straight platform with designated bus stops along the way. In addition there is a stop on the opposite side on Mumford Road used by the inbound routes 4, 6, 14 and 52, so they don't have to waste time pulling into the terminal itself. The end of the platform where the on street bus stop is located tends to be the busiest section, and also happens to be the farthest away from the terminal building, which offers GoTime monitor for checking departure times, which is a common complaint.
- A small terminal building at one end consists of a GoTime monitor so passengers can check departure times as well as drivers room and washroom with separate entrance.
- A large metal roof protects part of the terminal platform outside of the building.
- Three glass shelters are positioned along the other end of the platform. A number of benches are provided as well, both inside the shelters and outside.
