Edmonton Transit System 1038-1074
Edmonton Transit System 1038-1074 are Siemens Transportation Systems SD160 light rail vehicles built in 2008-2009. Assembly began in September 2007. Collectively, they are known as RTE (Rapid Transit Edmonton) 4 cars.
These cars are worth approximately $3.8 million each.
These vehicles are equipped with Trans-Lite orange LED destination signs, camera and visual/voice announcement (trouncer) systems by Interalia, and Thermo King roof-mounted HVAC units.
Delivery routing: Roseville to Hinkle via Union Pacific, Hinkle to the CPR at Eastport, CPR to Calgary, CN Rail to Edmonton.
The first revenue service train went out on January 27, 2009 as train 4 (starting 6:07am), consisting of 1039 on the south end, 1042 in the middle, and 1038 on the north end.
