Eastern Sierra Transit Authority or ESTA provides transit service in the Eastern Sierra region of California. Local service is focused on the cities of Bishop and Mammoth Lakes, with additional routes connecting to and from Reno, Nevada and Lancaster, California.
ESTA was established in November 2006 as a joint powers authority consisting of Inyo and Mono Counties, the City of Bishop and the Town of Mammoth Lakes. Transit service began on July 1, 2007 taking over operations from the county run Inyo Mono Transit. A eight member board of directors oversees operations.
