The route 915 Taunton is a cross-regional route from Durham Region Transit (DRT). It is operated by DRT's Westney Division.
The 915 runs between Harmony Terminal in the east and Ajax GO Station in the west. On weekdays, the route operates via UOIT/Durham College North Campus. The route travels mainly on Taunton Road and travels on Simcoe Street from the campus and Westney Road from Taunton in Ajax.
This route has two branches:
- 915 Taunton (Ajax GO-Harmony Terminal)
- 915B Taunton(Ajax GO - UOIT/Durham College North Campus)
- 915C Taunton(Ajax GO - Harmony Terminal via UOIT/Durham College North Campus)
- 915D Taunton(Harmony Terminal - Ajax GO via UOIT/Durham College North Campus)
The 915 was introduced in April 2007. It took the existing service on Taunton Road further into Ajax and Pickering, integrating it with the former Campus 101 service. Frequency was also increased on the route to handle the added capacity. Service on route 915 started on June 25, 2007.
915 Taunton frequency during rush hour was increased to every 15 minutes beginning March 3, 2008, due to increased demand. Weekday midday service was reduced to a 30 minute frequency from a 20 minute frequency and weekday evening service became hourly. In 2009, DRT introduced a summer schedule (June 28 to September 6) for the 915 to cope with less ridership outside of the school year.
DRT eliminated the aforementioned summer schedule in 2016 as ridership has exceeded 30 minute headways. Weekday summer schedule continues to operate at 15 minute headways.
After popular demand, in 2017 the 915 was given half hourly service weekday evenings until 22:00 and half-hourly service on weekends until 19:00. With this announcement, the route was also made part of the Durham Region Transit High Frequency Network
On June 25th, 2018, service on the corridor was reorganized with the route now being extended to Harmony Terminal at Harmony Road and Taunton Road. The 915 now only uses UOIT/Durham College North Campus Terminal on weekdays via Simcoe Street.
