Durham Region Transit 8014-8015
The buses formerly carried the blue Pickering Transit livery until their refurbishment. Inside, seats were the cushioned bench style and had the standard blue seat cushion and grey seat back. This batch feature double stream treadle operated rear doors, FM radios, and driver draft doors. Bike racks were added in 2009.
From late 2005 to early 2006, 8014, was sent out for refurbishment. It received new black rubber flooring and a new front stepwell. The interior of the rear doors and drivers' partition was painted black as well. It returned all white and later received the DRT "APTA" livery. 8015 returned from refurbishment in March 2008. It received new Altro Transflor Meta flooring and received a new front stepwell. Unlike 8014, the seats were reupholstered during refurbishment and it was given the current livery. Both buses were eventually given grey skirt panels and green mid-section stripes.
Towards the end of their lives, these buses were used mainly on High School Specials and occasionally on conventional route in Ajax and Pickering. As the last non-wheelchair accessible bus in the fleet, 8014 was retired from service on August 27, 2014 with a ceremony outside Pickering City Hall.
