Huntington Place is a Detroit Transportation Corporation Detroit People Mover station in downtown Detroit, Michigan, United States. It is located inside the Huntington Place convention center and is accessed on the third floor of the complex, just south of Congress Street.
History
The station was the only one of the People Mover's stations to not open with the loop itself in 1987 as construction of Cobo Center's northern addition was still in progress. After enough work had been completed on the northern addition, the station opened in November 1988. Shortly after Cobo Center was renamed TCF Center in August 2019, the station's name was changed from Cobo Center to Convention Center. This was most likely done to avoid selling naming rights for the station to TCF Bank. After TCF Bank and Huntington Bank merged in 2021, the center was renamed again to Huntington Place, and this time the station itself was renamed to reflect its current name in 2022.
