The Conseil intermunicipal de transport de la Vallée du Richelieu (CITVR) was a public transit board that provided bus transportation in the Richelieu Valley region of Quebec. CITVR serves the municipalities of Beloeil, McMasterville, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Otterburn Park, Saint-Basile-le-Grand, Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Saint-Hyacinthe, Sainte-Madeleine, and Sainte-Marie-Madeleine. The service had been operated by Transdev. It was replaced in 2017 by exo Vallée du Richelieu.
History
The CIT de la Vallée du Richelieu (CITVR) was created in 1984 along with the other intermunicipal transit councils. The Société de transport de la Rive-Sud de Montréal operated the system under contract until 1991 when the CITVR entered into a contract with the private operator Limocar.[2] Transdev acquired Limocar in 2004, forming Transdev Limocar. Veolia Transport and Transdev Limocar merged in 2011, with the resulting company being known as Transdev.
New legislation reorganizing public transit in the greater Montréal area came into effect on June 1, 2017, which replaced AMT with RTM. As part of the reorganization, CITVR was replaced by exo Vallée du Richelieu.
