6 Sardis via Wiltshire was a local route operated by Chilliwack Transit System in Chilliwack, BC.

Route Description

Route 6 operated between Downtown and Sardis via Cottonwood and Chilliwack malls. Limited service was provided via Yale Road to Evans as a commuter service to the industrial areas near Evans/Yale. [1]

History

  • 1996: Service introduced as 6 Sardis via Wiltshire
    • Mon-Fri: Every hour from ~7:00 to 18:00
    • Sat: Every hour from ~9:00 to 18:00
  • Winter 1997: Additional service introduced [2]
    • Thu-Sat: Evening service extended from ~18:00 to 22:00
    • Sun: Every hour from ~10:00 to 18:00
    • Added service operated as a "combined" routing with route 7 Sardis via Higginson, travelling southbound as route 6 and then northbound as route 7
  • September 2005: Commuter service along Yale introduced [3]
  • Winter 2010: Evening and Sunday service discontinued and replaced by route 12 Vedder Crossing
  • July 2, 2012: Service discontinued as part of 2012 network restructuring [4]
    • Service north of Cottonwood Mall replaced by route 1 Vedder
    • Service south of Cottonwood Mall partially replaced by route 4 Promontory
    • Coverage of some areas lost due to routing variations
