58 Tyson is a local route operated by Chilliwack Transit System in Chilliwack, BC. [1]

Route Description

Route 58 operates from Chilliwack and Cottonwood Malls south on Evans Road and Tyson Road to the University of the Fraser Valley campus. Trips interline at the malls with route 57 Broadway.

History

  • September 1, 2013: Service introduced as route 8 Tyson Loop [2]
    • Mon-Fri: Every 80 minutes from ~8:00 to 21:00
    • Sat: Every 80 minutes from ~9:00 to 21:00
    • Sun: Every 80 minutes from ~10:30 to 17:00
  • September 5, 2017: Route extended west from UFV to loop via Lindys Drive [3]
  • September 4, 2018: Service increased to every hour during weekday peak periods. Weekday service extended to start from ~5:30 to connect with route 66 Fraser Valley Express [4]
  • March 27, 2022: Service renumbered from 8 to 58 as part of the consolidation of route numbers in the Fraser Valley due to the rollout of NextRide [5]
  • September 4, 2022: Due to long term construction at Chilliwack Mall, routing modified so that trips layover at Cottonwood Mall prior to servicing Chilliwack Mall, matching routes 52 and 54 [6]
