57 Broadway is a local route operated by Chilliwack Transit System in Chilliwack, BC. [1]

Route Description

Route 57 operates from Downtown Chilliwack east on First Avenue and north to Yale Road, then south on Broadway Avenue to Chilliwack Airport, then continuing southwest to Chilliwack and Cottonwood Malls. Trips interline at the Malls with route 58 Tyson.

History

  • September 1, 2013: Service introduced as route 7 Broadway, replacing part of route 3 Chilliwack [2]
    • Mon-Fri: Every 80 minutes from ~7:00 to 21:00
    • Sat: Every 80 minutes from ~10:00 to 21:00
    • Sun: Every 80 minutes from ~11:00 to 17:00
  • September 4, 2018: Service increased to every hour during weekday peak periods. Weekday service extended to start from ~6:00 to connect with route 66 Fraser Valley Express. Sunday service extended to run from ~9:30 to 17:30 [3]
  • March 27, 2022: Service renumbered from 7 to 57 as part of the consolidation of route numbers in the Fraser Valley due to the rollout of NextRide [4]
  • September 4, 2022: Due to long term construction at Chilliwack Mall, routing modified so that trips layover at Cottonwood Mall prior to servicing Chilliwack Mall, matching routes 52 and 54 [5]
