Route Description

Route 54 operates from Chilliwack and Cottonwood Malls south through the Sardis and Promontory neighbourhoods.

History

  • July 2, 2012: Service introduced as route 4 Promontory as part of the 2012 network restructuring [2][3]
    • Mon-Wed: Every hour from ~7:00 to 19:00
    • Thu-Fri: Every hour from ~7:00 to 20:00
    • Sat: Every hour from from ~9:00 to 20:00
    • Sun: Every hour from from ~10:00 to 19:00
  • September 1, 2013: Weekday service extended to ~21:00 [4]
  • August 31, 2014: Weekday service extended to ~23:00 [5]
  • September 7, 2015: Routing in Promontory neighbourhood changed from counterclockwise to clockwise direction [6]
  • September 4, 2018: Route extended to serve Promontory Heights neighbourhood. Weekday service extended to start from ~6:00 to connect with route 66 Fraser Valley Express [7]
  • March 27, 2022: Service renumbered from 4 to 54 as part of the consolidation of route numbers in the Fraser Valley due to the rollout of NextRide [8]
  • September 4, 2022: Due to long term construction at Chilliwack Mall, routing modified so that trips service Cottonwood Mall first and take layover prior to servicing Chilliwack Mall [9]
