Broward County Transit 8001-8035 is wheelchair accessible.

Broward County Transit 8001-8035 were GMC RTS-04 (T8J-604) buses. These buses were manufactuered in 1980 and delivered in October of that year. These were the first 40ft buses in BCT's roster as well as the first wheelchair accessible buses. These buses were rehabbed in 1991, which included being repowered with DDEC controlled 6V92TA engines and getting V731 transmissions, which replaced the original mechanical 6V92TA engines and the V730 transmissions. These buses were phased out between 1996-1997 by the Gillig Phantoms and New Flyer D40LFs.

Donated to the Florida Highway Patrol in 1998. Bus was put for auction in 2012 and was purchased by a private owner, who had registered the bus in 2015.
