Brampton Transit 1250-1251 are 2011 model New Flyer XDE40 buses built in 2012. The buses are reserved exclusively for use on the Züm bus rapid transit network.
This order is an addition to the third part of a three-year contract for up to 60 Züm buses awarded to New Flyer the last week of November 2008. This order is identical to the previous two orders of ZUM buses.
In the Fall of 2011, it was found that there weren't enough Züm buses available for rush hour service so buses 1129-1130 from the 1101-1130 batch was temporary wrapped in a "Züm Backup" livery and used exclusively on Züm routes. As a result, 1250-1251 were bought so the two "Züm Backup" buses will be returned back to regular service.
