BC Transit 9901-9904
BC Transit 9901-9904 were TransBus Dart SLF buses with Plaxton Pointer 2 bodies built in 1999. They are 30ft long, have only one set of doors, are equipped with air conditioning, and have sealed double glazed bonded-type windows.
In October 2007, BC Transit submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Environment for funding for a diesel engine exhaust after-treatment retrofit program which would reduce particulate matter emissions from the buses. On January 10th 2008, the Ministry of Environment stated it was able to provide funding for the project. On July 3, 2008, BC Transit issued a request for proposals on equipping 1999-2006 conventional buses with diesel exhaust catalysts (DOC) or diesel particulate filters (DPF).[1] 9901-9904 and the rest of the Darts were to receive DOCs.[2] The installation happened at some point between late 2008 to early 2010.
