BC Bus North
BC Bus North is an intercity service operating in northern British Columbia. Service is contracted to Diversified Transportation, a subsidiary of Pacific Western Transportation.
History
Following the withdrawal of Greyhound Canada's route network in northern BC effective May 2018, the Province together with the Government of Canada created BC Bus North to provide a replacement intercity service along the corridors abandoned by Greyhound. This ensured that the small, remote communities located along Highways 16 and 97 still had reliable transportation available. A contract to operate the service was awarded to Diversified Transportation, with service starting in June 2018.
While some facilities (such as bus stops) are shared with local BC Transit systems, the two services are operated independently.
