History

The initial order for Boeing 777-300ER aircraft was made in November 2005, alongside an order for Boeing 777-200LR, Boeing 787-8 and Boeing 787-9 aircraft. That 777-300ER order was fulfilled in 2009, with a further 5 exercised in 2013 and 2014.[1] 13 purchase rights for 777-300ER aircraft remained after this series, wherein Air Canada purchased 2 more for 2016. 11 purchase rights remained after delivery.[2]

The fleet were delivered with a standardized international interior similar to the Boeing 787 fleet, that would also be retrofitted to the previous 777-300ER fleet.[3]
