History
The initial order for Boeing 777-300ER aircraft was made in November 2005, alongside an order for Boeing 777-200LR, Boeing 787-8 and Boeing 787-9 aircraft. That 777-300ER order was fulfilled in 2009.[1] Outstanding purchase agreements remained by 2011, with 5 exercised for delivery in 2013 and 2014. 13 purchase rights for 777-300ER aircraft remained after this series, 2 of which would be taken up.[2]
The fleet were delivered with Premium Economy seating, which was retrofitted into the previous order, and delivered in a higher capacity layout. This series would be the first aircraft in the fleet to have a Premium Economy cabin. [3]
To standardize the international fleet, this series interior was reconfigured starting in 2015 to a similar style of the Boeing 787 interior, enhancing the business class offering.[4]
