ABQ RIDE 301-340 were 1997 model Neoplan USA AN440A CNG buses built in 1996. They were originally intended to be delivered to LACMTA, but were rejected.

In 2004, the buses received some upgrades including new TwinVision Amber LED destination signs and Digital Recorders Talking Bus annunciators. In 2009, the 300-series received some additional upgrades, including new digital Interlogix security cameras (replacing the previous analog videotape-based cameras, most of which were inoperative), a signal priority system and new GFI Genfare Odyssey validating fareboxes with card readers and dispensers.

These buses were based at the Yale Transit Facility in southeastern Albuquerque. Prior to 2009, these buses were primarily used on busier routes, however, when most of the 400-series buses were replaced by the 900-series buses in 2009, these buses were largely shifted to routes with lower ridership and/or wheelchair boardings as the 900-series were placed on busier routes to speed up boarding times due to their low floor design. During their final years of operation, these buses were mostly used on the Route 40 D-Ride neighborhood circulator route in Downtown Albuquerque. From July 2014 to December 2015, Route 250 Nonstop Airport Express was also usually operated using these buses after the retirement of 436.

17 of the 300-series buses were replaced by ABQ RIDE 601-621 (2014 New Flyer XN40). The remainder of the fleet is being replaced by ABQ RIDE 622-641. The last three units (311, 320, 333) were retired on May 8, 2016.
