The ABC Companies 3035RE made its debut at BusCon 2007 in Chicago and offered "a big-coach feel in a smaller, more efficient vehicle". It was offered until 2013, when ABC Companies prepared to launch a shortened version of the Van Hool CX45. The Van Hool CX35 was launched at the beginning of 2015.

The 3035RE was built by General Coach of America and used the Freightliner XB-R chassis. It was available with a rear window and wheelchair lift options. Towards the end of production, the 3035RE's had its headlights simplified to round sockets.
