This thread is for keeping tract of what D40s, both 1989 and 1992 model years are either in service or retired. As many of you know, OC Transpo's D40s are all scheduled to be retired by the end of the year. All information on sightings would be appreciated. Lets see how long they last!

I've had 9002 and 9027 retired since 2-18-09. Can you confirm they are active?

Thanks!

Bob

I think I saw 9046 last week, but then again, I can't confirm right now since I haven't had a look by the garage recently.

Man oh man, unfortunately it sure seems as though the days of our D40s are numbered... Today during my commute from Orleans to school at Carleton from 3:45pm - 4:30pm, I was only able to spot the following buses (and I searched for 'em!):

92XX laying up at Blair at 4:12pm

9006 pulling into the Hurdman lay-up at 4:18pm

9042 pulling into the Hurdman station lay-up at 4:18pm

What I'm almost certain was 9208 (but may well have been 9205) passing through Hurdman on what I believe was a 20 Orleans just as I left on a 4 at 4:20pm

9227 making its way Out of Service through Smyth northbound at 4:22pm

I'm hopeful that my limited D40 sightings were due to the fact that it was early on in the peak period and many were likely out in the west end of town (I did see many, many classics on my little trip after all...). As well, maybe a bunch didn't make it out today due to the Remembrance Day service reductions. I didn't spend that much time at Hurdman at all either... But usually I do see MUCH more than just five on my trips to and from school. Here's hoping they'll stick around at least a little longer... stupid VIIs...

This afternoon I saw these:

9040 on 114

9023 on 114

9042 on 9

9051

9027.

I remember the days where these things were everywhere! :P

Spotted 9220 this afternoon running route 15 and I got a photo of it.

Thanks! I'll update the list for buses not spotted in the past week at 7pm. :)

It was on the 1 last night.

9015 was out the other night on 1-4 I think it was.

I've noticed many D40s on 114-5x runs lately so I'll be looking out for those.
