TTCNLFBT
Friday July 4, I spotted W101 on Finch turning onto Victoria Park and it does not have the destination sign for the Community routes. Just the 'Wheeltrans' lettering.

Just the 'Wheeltrans' lettering. IIRC, Only W100 and W102-W106 received destination signs. No clue why they skipped over W101.

G.A
Spotted an ELF not sure on the unit #. I also seen W211 with a destination sign on route 10 West Community. It also has a side sign but only displays the route number. I never heard of this route 10.

FlyerD901
TTC has a new Mercedes Sprinter bus from Durabus parked at Lake Shore Garage, number T002 or TO02. They could be testing it for Community bus routes, or some form of a shuttle service. It has coach style seats and poles. When/if I decide to go back I will take a picture. Still lots of ELFs around and active.
Shaun
The problem with these is that you need to use the lift, which looks like it takes up a lot of room. Not to mention the time it would take to load and buckle in a wheel chair person. Are the friendly's not big enough for community routes?
FlyerD901
The bus I saw may not be used for Communtiy service. Maybe TTC is getting into some sort of shuttle service market. Who knows.

G.A
Sounds like a Dial-A-Ride service maybe? We'll have to wait and see

FlyerD901
The website is durabuscoach.com for more info on this bus. The website as all over this bus, and it had TTC logos all over it as well. It had poles and Coach style seats.
G.A
No... the MiDi is not suitable as explained before the TTC needs a special door configuration as like they had on their Orion II"s and what they have on the ELF's and Friendly Buses. a MiDi does not thus can't be used in Community Bus. The Dial-A-Ride sounds like the direction they are going unless that is just a demo bus/van
FlyerD901
The bus is definitely a demo. MIDI can still be used, the back door shouldn't be a big deal. I'm sure they can get a rear door to compensate.

Shaun
Having steps on the front door sorta make it pointless for it to be a community bus dont you think? The whole point is to make it easier to board.
G.A
^ ^ Ha... Funny how you mentioned that... I deal with with one 80% of the time in Guelph. http://cptdb.ca/wiki/images/1/1d/Guelph_Transit_25-a.jpg ... But it is very true. their entire fleet is low floor, so why use a step bus. Still going with the DAR theory.

No TTC needs a rear back of the bus door like on the II's, ELF's and Friendly buses for community bus and wheel trans
