Thanks for the update, it's appreciated! I look forward to those new Novas. About the ex-ConnTransit Classics, some years ago when those buses were acquired by the STL I remember trying to determine their former numbers by watching carefully for the presence of former fleet numbers or traces of those. And my notes have STL 9059 ex-CONNT 9043 (instead of 9101) and STL 9161 ex-CONNT 9109 (instead of 9114). I may be mistaken of course, but are you absolutely sure of their history? VIN numbers would help clear this up, if anyone has them.

I am sure about #9161. About #9059, you are right it is ex-Connecticut #9043 (instead of #9101), so I made the change on the list. :P

STL 9196 is ex RTC 9103, not 9010, as well as STL 9097 which is ex 9010, not 9103. STL 9209 cannot be ex RTC 9219, as this bus was sold to Capital bus parts in august/september... Are you 100% shure that STL bought Ex RTC 9202? It was not involved on the initial deal with RTC... Also, STL fleet serie numbers for those ex RTC second hand buses was initially planned to stop at xx14, including ex RTC 9125 and 9215... Let's wait and see what fleet numbers they'll get when ready...

Look this is a picture of #9097 and we can see that it looks of a 91xx, while 9196 looks like a 90xx. That's a mistake, between the 2 buses. About #9125 & #9215, they were bought to be in service, just like #9001 to #9004 were even if they stayed a few months in the back yard.

Finally, i'll try to get more info on #9205 and #9209. B)

Thanks for the fleet info, Classic 9401! I was at Levis back in April and I didn't know there's more schedule you guys printed out than what I expected. Even though the mall they have the schedule is what they have.

I guess the one that runs to and from Quebec City are strictly one way route directional during peak runs (AM to QC, PM from QC).

By the way, about #9205 it is Ex-RTC #9203 not #9202. VIN number is N3000168. Now, we only to find out about #9209, but I have an idea, and we'll be in business! :D

Was this VIN number taken inside STL 9205 or just a deduction? Not shure at all of what you say because RTC 9203 was not involved in the deal with Lévis...

Was this VIN number taken inside STL 9205 or just a deduction? Not shure at all of what you say because RTC 9203 was not involved in the deal with Lévis...

It was taken inside STL #9205. I know well that it was not involved in the original deal with the R.T.C. since the buses originally involved in the deal were: 9210, 9212, 9215, 9217, 9220, 9223, 9224, but they added 2 other buses in the deal. I'll check the VIN number inside STL #9209 as soon as I get a chance, but I strongly believe that it is #9218 or #9222. :o

THanks for the great list, do you have the original identity of the following ST Levis #, if any of them ever exist:

#9048

#9054 to 58

#8866

#??73 to ??82

These are the # that's missing on my photo list, i wonder if they are being used or just being skipped, thanks~~

In fact, none of those are correct! And your post made me realise that my personnal roster was also incorrect... Here are the good numbers, finally:

Lévis 9059 VIN: XL3000349 Ex Connecticut Transit 9109

Lévis 9060 VIN: 8L3000270 Ex Connecticut Transit 9019

Lévis 9161 VIN: XL3000352 Ex Connecticut Transit 9112

Lévis 9162 VIN: 7L3000339 Ex Connecticut Transit 9043

Lévis 9171 VIN: 1L3000353 Ex Connecticut Transit 9113

Hope it helps clearing this up...

:P

Yes, thanks for the info! The renumbering doesn't really make sense though, it seems they have it mixed up. I should have been '9159' and '962' I suppose.

You are right... In fact fleet numbers don't really make sense at both places. Because all those CT buses are in fact 1990's. They were built in august 1990 and the "L" digit in those VIN clearly indicates the year 1990 for those buses. But for some reason Connecticut Transit has decided to split the original order in two parts and call them 90xx and 91xx:

Connecticut Transit 9032-9044 AU90 TC40-102A L3000328-L3000340

Connecticut Transit 9101-9134 AU90 TC40-102A L3000341-L3000374

STL Lévis tried to make the same with ex CT buses but got confused at some point, as you mentionned...

Cool, I wasn't aware both CT orders were actually 1990 buses.

And then it happened again, with STL 9196 ex-RTC 9010 (actually a 1989 model) and STL 9097 ex-RTC 9103 ! :P

Just a few random thoughts to throw in the mix:

You are correct re the CT Transit buses. The 9000's were based at the Hartford "Whalers Forever" Division and the 9100's were originally based at the New Haven Division. There were 1990 AND 1991 models in both series.

The 9196/9097 mixup was probably just an error when painting and numbering the buses. 9097 clearly has the mega size destination sign. I assume that 9196 has the regular size sign. Can we confirm this? One I'm interested in is ST Laval 9208 which is ex RTC 9127. According to my notes 9127 was repainted in to the RTC scheme. Is this correct? ST Levis 9209 can't be ex RTC 9211 as that unit is still with RTC.

I need to make a trip up there again...hopefully in the spring.

Thanks for all the great info you guys! I appreciate it.

Cheers!

P.S. busfan0947 I love your avatar photo. Can I get a scan of it?

Whoops! I read my notes wrong...D-UH! ST Levis 9194 is ex RTC 9127 and ST Levis 9207 is ex RTC 9212. My old eyes are playing games again!!

From my personal notes

- My last pic of RTC 9127 dated from June 2008, and it was in STCUQ livery, i would be surprised that RTC repainted this bus to sell it a year later

91273.jpg

- RTC 9211 is STILL with the RTC, this is the 92 classic i see the most (read (good) stalker bus)

- STLevis 9097 is probably not a 1990 RTC unit, since it has the Large destination sign

#9048 is Ex. Grand Rapid MI #155. I didn't included it in my list since it's retired since 2 years, just like #9052.

Buses xx54 to xx58 existed, but they were 1983 GM New Look and Classics. They are all retired since 2005-2006. Here are their original identity;

8354 GM New-Look 1983 (Ex. Autocars Quebec 83-107, Ex. STM #25-014)

8355 GM New-Look 1983 (Ex. Autocars Quebec 83-108, Ex. STM #25-007)

8356 GM New-Look 1983 (Ex. Autocars Quebec 83-109, Ex. STM #33-003)

8357 GM Classic 1983 (Ex. Autocars Quebec ??-???, Ex. RTL #8-307)

8358 GM Classic 1983 (Ex. Autocars Quebec ??-???, Ex. RTL #8-302)

#8866 is Ex. STL Laval #5807, but it's retired since almost 3 years.

Buses xx73 & xx74 were skipped for some reasons, but buses xx75 to xx82 were existing. All these buses were retired in 2006-2007, except #8876 that was retired in the last few weeks. Here are their original identity;

8975 (Ex. STL Laval #5903)

8876 (Ex. STL Laval #5836)

8877 (Ex. STL Laval #5906)

8478 (Ex. S.T.O. #8406)

8579 (Ex. S.T.O. #8504)

8980 (Ex. R.T.C. #8912)

8981 (Ex. R.T.C. #8904)

8982 (Ex. R.T.C. #8903)

I hope that helps you out.

You are right #9127 was never repainted in RTC livery.

I'm going to venture a guess and say that 9097 is a an ex-RTC '91 MCI Classic. The super Luminator and single-vent front - dual-vent fronts only became standard on Classics built from 1992 onwards - are dead giveaways. Now, the question is, which ex-RTC Classic was it?

It's a mistake between 2 buses.

You're right, #9097 is a '91 MCI Classic, ex-RTC #9103 while #9196 is a '90 MCI Classic, ex-RTC #9010.

No problem for the photo, I'll send you a PM on this. I took this picture a long time ago !!! :P

I have to admit this is the only possibility... Even STL's list appeared to be wrong at the time I obtained it !!! :P

Thanks for clearing up RTC 9127. I must have transposed fleet numbers. I really didn't think that RTC would sell a repainted Classic..yet!

Not only the STL's list is like that. We got the roster of the STM's First-gens, in the other thread, and it was full of mistakes.

It would be strange, but it wouldn't be impossible... They already sold #9205, that was repainted in newer RTC livery, to the STL Levis back in 2007, as #9286. :P
