eclair14
One of the comments on the Gazette site say that it will be free for CAM/TRAM holders. This is very good news. You say it yourself, IT'S A COMMENT !, nothing from official source !
80-040_Guy-Concordia
This was a real vague story about the airport shuttle, nothing real concrete was talked about aside for maybe the $7 a trip. To fluff up the whole story a bunch of numbers were thrown in like "12% increase" and "15000 hours of service", I bet these were just made up by someone along the chain. A real story would of talked specifics such as actual routes and given more in depth details.
kellergraham
Bylaw 105 which governs the use of STM fares has been modified with an AVIS posted in today's INFO STM ANY pass accepted on a regular STM bus can be used to travel on the 747. This includes all passes in article 19 for Bylaw 105-1: - CAM, CAM Hebdo, Tourist Pass, TRAM 1 to 8, "Event Pass" Regular tickets (at $2.75) are not accepted but anyone who pays the "airport fare" on the Airport Express 747 gets a daypass valid for 24 hours following validation on the 747. SMS
Sounds reasonable - I hope YUL will have an OPUS machine though!
webfil
24-hours pass for seven bucks? This is fairly cheap (versus taxi) and great for accompanying somebody who's leaving/arriving (round-trip). Anyone knows what CT owns the LFS's used for route 747? Anyone knows what CT owns the LFS's used for route 747? That would be LaSalle, and supposedly the LFS for the 747 will be 29s 149 - 156. They will be equipped with luggage racks, and will have a slightly different interior seating configuration. We've discussed this at length before, but I hope that answers your question . webfil
Sorry about that. I'm not used to getting around on this forum and still reading previous topics. Thanks for the shortcut.
stm_5307N
A lil scoop, the 8 buses will not see service until the 29th of March for route 747 and here's the good part.. they have a new livery! Well sort of anyways.. The front remains in blue but the rear chervons are different now. They are white and very light blue with a 747 plane between the chevrons! Only 29-156 has been done and the rest will follow shortly. I will be getting photos from a 3rd party in the next few hours. The reason why only 29-156 has been done so far is that this bus will be use for media purposes to launch the new route next month.
Chris_the_traveller
More traces of the 747 & 427! Today on Rene-Levesque westbound at de la Montagne St. I noticed on their was a new bus stop flag sporting info for the 427 and 747. The 747 number is in green and has "express" written above it (just like all the other 400-series expresses). The next metro station was (obviously) Lionel-Groulx and instead of the usual "Lundi au Vendredi" on express bus stop flags, it said "Vers l'Aeroport". I suppose that most other stops along the route have the new bus stop flags too.
novalfs26001
I saw the 747 planibus. Its official $7 to ride which includes 24h pass. Service is 30 min headways at most times 1h during the night, 20 min during the afternoon on weekdays. There are limited stops on René Levesque. M. David
I might check this out too, as I don't have class tomorrow. I'd like to see what the 747-dedicated buses look like, in addition to getting a few pics.
stm_5307N
Reports have at least 3 to 4 buses now in the 747 scheme, so maybe if where lucky, more than one will show up!

M. David
Hmm, interesting. Thanks for sharing this. So the official name for the route is just simply "747 Express Bus"? I personally like the name "747 Aerobus" better, as it sounds less ordinary and generic than "747 Express Bus".
ProchaineStation
March 29, you know where I will be with my DSLR! BTW, do you think they would allow non ticket holders to board?
M. David
March 29, you know where I will be with my DSLR! BTW, do you think they would allow non ticket holders to board? Well, it says in the Planibus that they accept standard monthly passes, if that's what you're referring to. If that's the case, then all aboard! Most, if not all, of us here have a valid OPUS card. Thanks also to novalfs26001 for posting the Planibus scans. Much appreciated !
ProchaineStation
I meant a plane ticket
M. David
I meant a plane ticket Oh. That's probably doubtful. You'd just have to pay the seven bucks, I guess (which isn't really that much, anyway, despite being almost three times the standard cash fare). novalfs26001
Thanks also to novalfs26001 for posting the Planibus scans. Much appreciated ! Anytime Also, this shuttle is also for airport employees, so not plane ticket is needed. CAM, CAM hebdo or day pass is good enough!
tristan
747 Planibus The 747 will run 24/7, that will be the only STM route with 24/7 service. The planibus is also on the STM website http://www.stm.info/bus/Planibus/747.pdf They need to change the way it is displayed because the times appears sideways. kellergraham
Looking at the map, I wonder if you'll be able to board at Lionel Groulx (or Berri) and get off on Rene-Levesque... Or will they limit that. To my knowledge, STM doesn't have any "Embarquement / Desente seulement" stops (I'm not counting stops near termini) Alex
kellergraham
The Gazette has two pictures on their news story. One is the interior and the other shows the Destination Sign "747 Express Bus". I don't like the name of the route........ "747 Express Aeroport" and "747 Express Centre-ville" would have been my choices. Alex
