Uh, Mystic, 16-137 was rebuilt after an accident. It's still alive, and running with St. Laurent. It was never at Youville. Just thought I'd let you know :P. And Simon, I saw 16s 089 & 150 on Tuesday, so you may want to change the dates on your list :P.

It was a long search just to find those few sightings, so I should probably just wait now for the official list to be released. There are so many pics I haven't sorted through you that they get outdated and aren't very good for statistical purposes any longer.

16-137 was rebuilt? Not at Youville? Pfft. I suppose they fixed this one up just like they're rebuilding those other 1st gens at the new Legendre garage. Can't figure why though if they plan on dumping them off to Novabus shortly.

One thing I've noticed though, it's very rare now, I find, to see a 1st gen in Lasalle! It used to be the opposite before. I still see a lot of Classics, but most days now it's either a 27-5, 28 or 3rd gen 29 that's in service. Nothing much older and very rare a 1st gen. I see more Classics than 1st gens in Lasalle now!

Classic 9401, I posted the full list of retired 16, 17 and 18 series buses in the 1st gen retirement thread. Every other bus that I did not list is active. So now you can update a full list of active 1st gens here based on what I listed retired as per an official STM roster as good as of yesterday.

Okay, since the roster is as good as of yesterday, i'll list the active buses as of September, 26th. It will now be easier to follow.

The list is not complete yet, but I've done a part it. It's gonna be complete tomorrow since I don't have time to do it all tonight.

Meanwhile, you guys keep reporting yours first-gens sightings, so I can update the various dates.

  • 18-045 signed up as the 430 at the Elmhurst loop. Hey Steve, isn't this bus supposed to be dead? If so, we have ourselves a zombie bus :). Got photo evidence too.

I never listed it as retired in the roster list I posted 2 days ago. It's still active out of MR garage, but it was briefly at LA garage during the summer. I got pics of it on the 113 in July 2009. In July it was in the repair line behind LA garage, but never retired yet. Sorry, if I had mentioned it in the retired buses back in July. FYI, 17-027 which was one of the buses next to 18-045 back in July 09 in the repair line behind LA garage is still in the repair line same spot at LA garage.

So 18-045 is still active, then. I remember this one having problems with its rear door a few years ago. I think it was originally a LA bus, but LA transferred it to MR. Good riddance.

Back in July 2009, Lasalle only had 27 1st gens left! The lowest amount out of any other garage! WALALALA

Yay! That means MR & FR have the most of these things, I believe. From this list, you can strike off 17-027 & 16-102, since they've apparently been canned. Also, 16-135 appears to be a LA bus too. Saw it today on the 162.

16-142 is one of the LFS's retired out front of Lasalle garage, but it's still listed on the active roster. I'm pretty sure this bus will never see service again and is just waiting to be towed to Youville. The buses out front are guarenteed retired I was told, plus 16-142 is missing many parts already.

  • 17-088 on the 161.
  • 18-038 on the 103.
  • 16-014 on the 162. I guess this one must really bus a LaSalle bus now.
    Last time I saw it, it was in Old Montreal, working route 14 :(!
  • 17-173 on the 105. This one has awesome smartassness potential :P.
  • 17s 177 & 176 on the 51.
  • 18-006 on the 15.
  • 18-023 on the 165.

I think I now hold the dubious honour of being the forum's best 1st-gen spotter. Um, yay :blink:?
