Because CTA has spec'd the order to have:

GREAT PDF, thanks for sharing!

"The centerpiece of the LFS SMART BUS is the Nova eCooling system - our proprietary electric engine cooling system

engineered to minimize your vehicle life cycle costs. It improves fuel economy by up to 18%, reduces maintenance costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

To maximize the performance of your vehicle, we are taking the electrification of our bus components even further with

the development of Electric Air Conditioning and Electric Power Steering options."

Here is a newer spec sheet.

It shows that the CNG is available, but only for the 40' and not the artic.

Sweet! One thing that jumps out is that the LFS artic is 62'. The competitor Xcelsior is 60 feet 10 inches (counting the bumpers)

LFS does not offer the BAE hybrid on an artic. New Flyer does.

Talking about CNG, here's a sneak preview of the first LFS CNG demo, hiding behind a hybrid demo. Technically this belongs in a 'LFS 4th Generation' thread though as this bus has the new rear cap. Also note the STM-inspired livery in dark blue.

Maybe we need a new thread for the 4th gen LFS

This thread is fine for it. No need to have a thread for a specific generation of a bus when you can cover all of it in this thread.

If that's the case, then the title of this thread needs to be changed so it doesn't seem like its for 3rd gen discussion.

I'm curious as to why the pilot of the TTC Artic order (9000) was built as a 3rd gen if the rest of the order will (likely?) have 4th gen specs. Nova had the tooling to build it as a 4th gen from the start, so something doesn't add up.

Perhaps this, are the e-cooling fans work well for artic? We don't know at this time as Nova engineering is still working on it!
