Did anyone figure out why the RDC's that were being tested on the Chatham sub got sent to MMC?  Any progress on a commuter service from Stratford to Toronto? It was supposed to be in place by the end of 2016.

Where else are they supposed to be sent?

Can't TMC service them?

It's not an issue of servicing them - they are stored when they aren't being used for testing.

Does any Canadian still operate without a Prestige Park Car?

There may be the odd departure that has to leave with without one due to servicing or maintenance, but I haven't heard of that happening since the launch of the service. All trainsets have at least one Prestige Chateau and a Prestige Park Car.

I really wish they would keep some trains with the refurbished orange-interior Park Cars. I prefer riding in those.

What's the chance that anyone has a copy of the rendering that was on VIA's website back in around 2000 of a F59PHI in VIA colours?

Thanks!

You may be able to find it in Internet Archive.

A funny thing happens when I click on that link... it tells me I won that auction. Hence my query about that image I remember from so long ago. :P

I really want to know who thought that putting the large VIA logos at the front end of the sides was a good idea. They really should have used the design they are using on Glenfraser as the start point for 916 rather than the LRC car.

My first thought was the Grey Ghost reappears! That's the paint scheme they used on 6532 and coaches 5558 and 5590 in 1980. Whether or not VIA wraps other cars and engines remains to be seen. It would be interesting if 916 and 3356 went west!

They will stay in the Windsor to Quebec City area

VIA Rail 150 branding
As part of the celebrations, VIA Rail has wrapped a portion of its fleet in the Canada 150 colours.  The exteriors of 22 locomotives, 18 passenger cars and the Glenfraser lounge car are decorated with the names of some of the cities served by the national passenger rail service. VIA Rail has also hung posters and banners in its stations, inviting travellers to join in the festivities

I suspect that they'll wrap a lot of the blue P42s (3 are out now with several more being done). They look very ratty with rust spots showing all over, and could use a facelift. I do hope they will repaint them after the wraps are removed, though thats a while off.

904, 905, 907, 908 and 916 are done already in Canada 150. 902, 903, 915 and 917 are green P42's so they might not receive the wrap. 901 is still being repaired.

I'm actually hoping that when the time comes to take the wraps off, they take the opportunity to revise the livery, because let's honest, the Renaissance scheme started around 2002 and yes, okay it got a slight colour change, but I think its time VIA moves on and thinks up something new. Sure they can keep the same colours, but at least revise the design on locos? Anyone share a similar opinion?

Or did what Amtrak and repaint current engines in a good paint scheme. For Amtrak that would their Phase-III, for VIA that could be the VIA Canada paint scheme that the F40's (except for 6429) wore from 1997 to 2012. That scheme matched VIA's equipment a lot better than the Renaissance paint scheme. The Renaissance paint scheme doesn't flow with the Stainless cars which make up at least 50% of the fleet.
