Stolen Photos!

Seems like that bastard found a way to trump us... I can't leave one myself...

Smart guy, we'll have to keep on him, so far comment bombarding is out of the picture, flagging won't do any good since he's deleting and re-uploading... The only thing we CAN do is PM bombard him and pray that we crack him somehow...

His next step will be just to create a new account, he's not a stupid guy, and we know he's up to something.

We just have to hope that yahoo will get to him before he reuploads his photos again. Well, he can't stay online 24/7.

And theft and copyright infringement is one of the hurdles we have to deal with everyday now, alongside photo rights and driver reactions...

Perhaps the individual in question is doing this only for the sake of causing mayhem and gaining attention? If that's the case, he's already won and there's nothing we can do to stop this.

Agreed. I sure don't see any other point to what he/she is doing or the way he/she is acting. (Unless this is some sort of psychology study in human behavior online??) No offense intended to anyone, I support your efforts, but I voiced my opinions on the photostream, opinions were deleted, and now I'm going to stop spending my free time trying to get acknowledged by this person and go to bed. I've had a long day and I want to go fanning in the morning

It seems everyone is trying to "bomb" the comment section of this account, investing all this time and effort, for what? Just to get deleted within a relatively short period of time by the account holder afterwards, so that he can get away for his actions and laugh at us for the time wasted for nothing?! May I suggest, let's try something else: instead of targetting the account holder, who obviously has no remorse or guilt for his actions (and in fact, I agree with Peter, he is having LOTS of fun as people bang their heads against the wall by "bombing" the comment sections, leading to absolutely nowhere) Stop satisfying his lust for entertainment! Let's get together and collectively address our sincere concerns to Flickr instead! (For one thing, I also HATE Flickr for the system they have in place, to overly complicate the process of reporting copyright infringement) Indeed, Flickr would like to see you hand-write a pretty love note and *mail* it to them........but, in case this is overly complicated for most of us to handle, use their simple online report system instead. One or two loosely sent messages may not be effective, but collective actions will hopefully reflect an urge for actions to be taken. This will only take a few minutes of your time, it's very easy and simple........follow me!

To whom it may concern,

I would like to file a report of copyright infringement against all photos posted by this Flickr user, "joetranton", as these photos were stolen from two of the most well-known online transit photo collections, www.barp.ca and www.busdrawings.com

These photos may be found under the following links, with proper copyright watermark creditted to the intellectual property owners as displayed on each photo:

I wouldn't make a difference. I'd react the same way to him online as I would off line.

I sent this jerk a PM, not sure if it will help...

Message:

You know what, just save yourself the trouble of dealing with all of this crap, and just take those photos down. Otherwise, me and thousands my colleagues at the CPTDB will continue to pursue you relentlessly over this matter to ensure they are taken down one way or another. You sir, are in violation of several copyright laws, and if need be, will also be proven with legal help if brought in. Just do yourself a favor and prevent the forthcoming hell we are about to rain down on you and just take them down. If you do just that, we will leave you alone and that will be the end of it.

Here is a photo I took as I wrote this message just a few minutes ago...

My abuse notice is into flickr too. I've only had two copyright problems w/ my site. The first was one of the Calgary Sun's editorial cartoonists ripping off my LRT system map; nothing came out of that. The second went better. The image was removed from a commercial site immediately.

As some of you already know, I have reposted the images in question that were stolen from my website to my Flickr account for comparison: http://www.flickr.com/photos/42258155@N04/

UPDATE: It seems JoeTranton has taken down the photos from the Photobucket account...

http://s1043.photobucket.com/home/joetranton

Seems Photobucket is a bit more supportive of these issues.

And to add, have I pissed off somebody on this board? I want to know and am ready to get to the bottom of the problem if that is the case. I am here and anyone can PM me or talk to me on the baord if they want. I have no problem with that. If a chat etween me and someone else needs to be removed, then so be it. That's fine! I really don't appreciate having to go through all this because of someone else. Life is too short to even need to worry about this kind of stuff happen. I always thought all of us on this board were all a group of friends.

Exactly. just a few of the reasons, none of my photos go online anymore, one good thing about fb, is that the photos on there when screen shot, are crap quality, i like that a lot.

if you want my pics, you ASK ME, and I do more than just watermark them, I wont say what, but my tags are on all my pics, since a incident I had 2 years ago..

Hmm, I like your idea, a lot.

to mods/admin

could you please advise on who the "Anonymous Users" might be (apart my usual lurking tendencies...) :(

Hey Mike, I lurk a lot too as anonymous, saves a lot of grief sometimes.

lately though, just coming on normally. (I've been on here a lot recently from my cell phone too.)
