general682002
For those who have thought never seen an Orion II back in the old days, here it is still intact at the Caledon auto scrap yard. The owner told me that vehicle has been sitting for 1.5 years. The original owner was suppose to convert into a camper, but that didn't happen as it's sitting there right now. He even told me it's still running great. However, this will continue to sit a bunch of spiders around for a very long time. Now a question, how many did OC bought and when did they retired? The condition is still faired condition.

M.Wright
So I wasn't smoking crack when I saw a poster in Sandy Hill Health Clinic when I was young about one in the KFC Livery! Finally, something that has been bugging me my entire life! Thank you so very much for sharing this, I can't explain how thankful I am to see this. That I just realized, is a entirely different roll sign than the rest of the OC Transpo buses. It even has the rare Centretown Exposure, which is rare because Centretown is south of Downtown, no bus really terminates in that area except right now the 153.Also that Lisgar/Cartier exposure is probably one for a route that would loop around in what used to be Regional Headquarters, now known as Ottawa City Hall, as that is where the NG looped around during the media event. I would place my money on the fact this bus would be able to easily navigate that loop. Excellent find Sherman! P.S. I don't know if the rollsign is working but I would like to see some of those rare exposures if this is possible. Now also if this is in fact a 1992, this would probably be the only bus that OC Transpo ever repainted into the KFC Livery. (Everything else as far as I know of was delivered with the KFC) On the topic of the livery, on the Wiki, 9261 is listed as being in the stripe. EDIT: I just realized that this still has a Transfer Cutter, this thing must of been retired around 2000, as we started getting the electronic transfer printers in 1998. The old transfer cutters really disappeared around 2000. Actually the transfer cutters must of disappeared in 1999, unless they changed the style of them in 1999 because the printed transfers switched from the old policy with one way directional travel only to time expired transfers. I have a 1999 printed transfer to prove this if requested. But I know the original printed transfers had the one way policy. It's on the 1998 system map. general682002
I dont know how you do it, but you always find these rare gems And you know i have to ask...... How much?? Good question, they asked me "you want it?" I said no, I don't have room. I'm sure anyone from Ottawa who would want it for restoration and kept as historic. P.S. I don't know if the rollsign is working but I would like to see some of those rare exposures if this is possible. The battery may have died a while now. There are tons of cobwebs and bee hives build up. Well, it will be there for long time and I like to leave the equipment alone just to respect. Just those are very rare exposures and none of us have even heard about that style of rollsign before so it would be neat but I understand. tomsbuspage
OC TRANSPO Community Buses8591 ex Para Transpo A/C & Roll added for community bus 9261-4 OBI 02.502 1992 New buses orginal KFC colours not re-painted 9651,9652 OBI 02.502 196 aquired in 1997 ex-Valley Metro (Phoenix AZ),orginally dual fuel;converted to gasoline Actually, all the Orion II buses were originally painted in the red stripe livery. The KFC scheme was not introduced until 1998 when the 97 Orion Vs entered service. I have a copy of a magazine photo showing 9263 in the red stripe scheme. Also the bus maps from 1997 to 1999 show an Orion II in the red stripe livery.
