OC Transpo 8238
I was trying to post a photo under "OC bus spottings" and it would come up that I had nothing chosen to attach. Does anyone know why? Thanks
Board Admin A. Wong Posted July 3, 2009 Board Admin Report Share Posted July 3, 2009 What web browser are you using? You can try Firefox if you are using Internet Explorer. Has it worked before?
OC Transpo 8238
It has worked before. The pictures were under the 2MB size limit, but I resized them again and it worked.

I found a way to add a "display/avatar" picture in another menu... I'm not too sure what that "personal photo" is about... thank you...
Board Admin A. Wong Posted July 5, 2009 Board Admin Report Share Posted July 5, 2009 Yeah, I don't think the personal photo feature works too well. I've noticed some people had one up but I could never get it to work myself. Most people are looking for the avatar settings. With the next version of the board (which we will be upgrading to as soon as the software bridging the forum logins to the wiki is released), that should be fixed. captaintrolley
It seems that some threads with posts that have large pics in them seem forever to open on my computer. Is there something I can do from my end, or should the poster be resizing their pics before uploading them? Seriously some threads take 5-10 minutes to open if there are several 'large' pics on them. Board Admin A. Wong Posted July 6, 2009 Board Admin Report Share Posted July 6, 2009 The posters should be resizing the photos. Some images are huge!
BusRider
I have that problem when trying to post in the "2009 LFS" thread. I got the Error "Error, You did not choose a photo to upload". It's under 2MB and this is the first time it happened.
hamiltontransithistory
I'm having problems uploading images Using the Attachment editor, I get an 'uploading file' message, and then the page returns to normal with no attachments listed. Using the 'upload an image' feature I don't get a preview image, and the link supplied has the file name, but there is no image at the URL. The images are fairly large, approx 2.5 Meg, so I wonder if the connection is timing out on me. (I'm using Firefox)
Board Admin A. Wong Posted December 31, 2009 Board Admin Report Share Posted December 31, 2009 Could certainly be the image size. I know my "Upload an Image" link won't handle large pictures and has the behavior you described. Please try to resize them on your computer first for best results. ttc9426
I have the same problem. When I try to upload a photo, it says that I have nothing attached. It's not the size because all of my photos are the same size and I uploaded some before, and it's not my browser because as I said, I was able to upload before. Also, this happens with both FireFox and IE.
BusRider
I'm having quite a bit of problems. They started when the server move was made. My photos are just under 1MB and have worked before. What that uploader does it loads and loads and the goes blank.

What that uploader does it loads and loads and the goes blank. That happened to me last night. I tried to upload a 1.85meg JPEG file and first it told me that i'm not allowed to upload that type of file. Then i tried again and it went blank. I resized it and it seemed to work when the image is now about 158k.
captaintrolley
I always make my pics 800 X 600 or less. Even though I have a new computer now I still have compassion for anyone that may be struggling with an old computer.
Board Admin A. Wong Posted January 13, 2010 Board Admin Report Share Posted January 13, 2010 The "Upload an Image" link should now work fine for all photos, even larger ones directly off of a digital camera. It will resize to 1000 pixels wide now.

Board Admin A. Wong Posted January 15, 2010 Board Admin Report Share Posted January 15, 2010 You are using the one at the top of the board, not when you are posting, right? Also, do you get a broken image? Or what happens? Also, how large exactly are your photos?
ttc9426
Oh wait, that one works for me, the one from the post doesn't. My photos are usually around 1.40 MB.
