JRM1000
There was a piece on CHCH news last night about the cameras. Showed 921. They're saying they're doing 10 buses a day and hope to have them all done by the fall. I'm wondering, will the remaining 04's and 05's get them? I would think so. I've provided the link to the news article and video. http://www.chch.com/hsr-cameras-not-yet-watching/
JRM1000
Currently on bus 1611. It has a Stop Requested sign below the AA in the front. Did the Nova's always have this, or is this a new addition? I've never noticed it before.

Chris W
VBL Bus Lines has purchased an ex DARTS ARBOC for use on the Glanbrook TransCab. The bus is numbered 204, meaning bus 202 (the white Federal Coach) will be used as the backup bus.

scootaround
HSR has a slightly updated logo. Cleaner lines, more equal design. I like it.

That looks to be a very serious impact especially with the windshield cracked. Based on the witness statement in the article you linked, looks like someone jumped out onto the roadway and got struck. Knowing these buses don't stop easily, they require a lot more distance knowing a large vehicle.
ItsAMetro
Does GO Transit have any plans to bring bus service to the Mountain, more importantly Mohawk College? It's insane how a college as large as Mohawk has no regional transit, and as is evident there isn't even enough parking to accommodate commuters

BedardZ0754
http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/canada/hamilton/hamilton-haldimand-transit-1.4372330 Would be interesting to see this partnership actually go ahead. Probably will be funded similarly to how GRT has the townships fund the 21 and 77.
newflyerinvero
Pardon the bump... But I'm starting to think that Hamilton wouldn't be in position for the LRT on the basis of sustainability when it comes to ridership levels, even now. As I did say maybe a year ago at this time that council delayed improvements for one year to which ultimately can really kill such a great mode of transit. But that would be a great success unless if the ridership is there to support it. But how does that get done? Get the HSR improved at a much more substantial levels so that when LRT's built, the ridership is there. Yes, it costs a whole bundle of money to do that but their council (Like Burlington's), is the brightest on transit issues. I'm sure more Hamiltonians can speak more to this. But that's just my observation. How is council deciding on the transit budget and do we know of any big improvement proposals that would jump the HSR into better ridership gains? Hybrid0920
Were some of the Novas ordered with different front door configuration’s? I ask, because bus 1636, when opening the front door it doesn’t make the (pssst) air noise when opening or closing. To me it sounds like an electric motor. Does anybody have any insight on this? newflyerinvero
Whether it's my sight deteriorating that the fonts for such files that includes the budget for instance, I can't seem to find anything related to anything big for the HSR. I have felt as if that this year was going to have to be a HUGE year for them given that they need to really make a strong effort to boosting the ridership base in further preparing for the LRT. Delaying one year of improvements (and a subsequent fare increase) did alot of negative and I still believe the HSR is in crisis. Having a second year of no improvements will do much more harm and would, in my opinion, not put Hamilton in in any position to have any good enough ridership base for the LRT. In my mind, straighten the HSR with a strong bus network including BRT (the B-Line and A-Line expansion of service hours helps), but what other lines were associated with the BLAST BRT plan? That could help!
lip
The HSR is a joke, and in my opinion they are right behind Burlington Transit for the worst transit system in the GTHA. I'm not holding my breath for any kind of improvement since the politicians in Hamilton seem to enjoy playing games with transit. The HSR is now on their 3rd General Manager in the past 10 years and not one thing has improved during that time. In fact things have only gotten worse, and the only thing this system has done is tinker around with destination signs every 3 years and they cant even get that right. Wonka
The HSR has been facing huge public outcry over missing and delayed buses in the past 6-12 months and council basically scraped the 10 year improvement plan a year or two ago, which further exacerbates the issue. I honestly don't even know why Hamilton is getting an LRT with the HSR performing as it is, despite the economic boom going on right now in Hamilton. It's truly a very screwed up situation. It is not known if the plan will be restarted this year at this time.
