Are you referring to the fact that the "B" is displayed differently than all the other Rapid Ride signage?

If so then yes. It displays it like this on the Bellevue bound trip, until it reaches NE 8th/156th NE, then the "B" is normal back shaded after it loses its via destination and display Bellevue TC only. It's been like this since B Line started and it bothers me (because I like things to be correct and uniform) but as a driver I have no control over it. I've written it up, but it doesn't seem like a problem to the marketing dept, who handles the signage programming.

Okay... give us a clue... what's the "unique little thing?"

I think he's referring to that grey box above the destination sign to narrow things down a bit.

That's an RFID tag.  They have been on the front of every bus for longer than I can remember.

I will be getting on Amtrak in a few hours but I was just checking the routes again, and I have no idea if I can take either the 180 or 574 (northbound), or where they stop.

Does the 574 towards the airport pick up at S 188th St & Military Rd S (52636)?  Neither Transitfeeds nor OneBusAway show any 574s arriving, but looking at Google Streetview, there is 574 on the sign!

Moreover, the 574 DOES show up on OneBusAway for S 188th St & 46th Ave S (52637), but is not listed on the sign or Transitfeeds.

Google maps shows the 574 stopping at 52636 but not 52637.  But it's been having more issues than usual lately with transit. :(

Clearly the best solution here would just be for the bus to stop at both stops, but it is an express route, and they are rather close...  So which one am I safer with?  Should I just forget about the 574 and time it for the 180?

Sorry if this post is confusing - I'm confused too.  I just need to know the best/most reliable way to get from either of those stops to Link.

I believe it stops at Tyee High School, if not than a little further down it makes a series of stops. I know for sure it serves 188th and Intl Blvd. its a rather interesting hold over from days long ago how it makes the stops along 188th.

Vashon gets Sunday service for the first time since early 2000.  Also, weekday mid-day service will be handled by one of the on-island shuttle buses instead of the one that currently comes over on the ferry (late morning).

4201 9/8

4203 9/8

4207 9/7

4232 9/6

4241 9/8

4243 9/8

4251 9/8

4255 9/8

4257 9/8

All others show as Vehicle not found.

Did 4241 just die? because it just reported at  Sep 8 2016 7:53:51 PM

This morning I saw 3397 running out of service with some other agency's destination sign.

Metro Phantom with non-Metro destination sign

It appears to be from Grand Rapids. The driver's side sign had random pixels, while the back sign had a small "1" in one corner.

Any ideas how this could have happened?

Ah, I was under the impression that the XT40s and XT60s wouldn't be arriving until much later. Are the Bredas still sitting in Atlantic base, or have they been hauled off to the South Base boneyard/scrap heap?

By the way, did XDE40 7252-7259 all came back to Bellevue Base?

If it did, then what was the reason for it? if being replaced by the Gillig Phantom 40 ft, why came back to Bellevue?

Yes, they are supposed to all be back at Bellevue Base, but I'm on vacation and can't confirm that they are all ACTUALLY back yet. I am not sure of the reasoning, but I'd assume that maybe the new shakeup for South didn't require as many 40 foot buses and the 8 7200's are being sent back to Bellevue to be with the rest of the 7200's. I also believe that South will Gain 1 or 2 3700's from Bellevue.

oh what was the reason that 1 or 2 of 3700's started to gain to South Base?

I think the reason XDE40 7250-7259 being sent to South Base around March for temporary was just to see how it turns out if whether stays at South or go back to Bellevue.

it wouldn't matter anyways and isn't really a big deal because it will all become electric buses eventually after more of old buses retired.

I'm not going to get into this much, because we've been over this more than once before. Metro move equipment around to based on the needs to operate their service. Every service change there are changes, some minor, some major, which sometimes requires equipment to be shifted around. Also, new equipment coming in can also affect this too.

I don't know why BB is losing a 3700 or two, it's just happening. Equipment shifts happen all the time.

The matter of the 7200's were originally, moving the 10 3200's at South to Bellevue to have the remaining 3200's at one base. That why 7250-59 went South. 2 came back this summer. I'm not completely sure why they're all coming back to Bellevue now, but it's possible that South's service change can allow them to run with 8 less 40 foot coaches. Another more likely possibility could be, with the 8000's coming into Ryerson, some 2300's have been moved to South for more capacity on commuter runs (previously filled with 40' coaches), then shifting 7200's back to Bellevue. So basically, 8000's not replacing 2300's but rather repalcing 3200's through a series of shifting equipment around.

On the topic of electric buses, we're getting 8 more probably next year. Any more will be a long way off, as a process of new procurement will take time. So those 8 more will just go towards getting rid of more remaining 3200's.
