Ed/Ki - Elwha Replaces The Spokane Through The 14th
On Monday, January 9, the 144 vehicle Elwha replaces the 188 vehicle Spokane on the Edmonds/Kingston route while the Spokane undergoes scheduled vessel inspections and maintenance. This temporary downsizing should only last approximately 5 days.

This is the first time Elwha will be serving another route other than Anacortes to San Juan Island routes since 1990's.

M/V Hyak has earned her golden stripes for 50 years, the first Super Class to earn them. Since Super Class is starting get unreliable, I wonder if Washington State will accurate the next phrase of the Olympic Class.

They made crew training go faster than except because it still has 30 more days until it was official to enter service.

Not necessarily.  This is only temporary until the Kaleetan returns to service and from what I've heard there are still a few things that need to be done until she officially enters service next month.

From a service bulletin sent this evening:

Quote

M/V Chimacum will replace M/V Sealth on the Seattle/Bremerton route tomorrow May, 24 beginning with the 6:00 a.m. sailing from Seattle.

Due to necessary emergency vessel repairs, and unavailability of other relief vessels, Chimacum will temporarily service the Seattle/Bremerton routes earlier than planned in order to restore full service to WSF routes heading into the busy holiday weekend. Kaleetan is expected to return to service later this week after a required U.S. Coast Guard Annual inspection is completed.

Be advised that there will be no galley service on the Chimacum while in service.  Limited vending options will be available (no hot drinks), and the vessel will sail in the #1 position.
