GrandeWest_B35G
746 has been decommissioned. It was spotted in the city storage compound earlier today. Its last day of service was March 4th. There is now only 1 D40LF and 1 bus in the flame livery left in Medicine Hat. No replacement Vicinities have been spotted yet. All of the buses currently in process of replacement/retirement will be sold. These are: •720-721 (2009 Arboc SOM) •722-725, 730 (2010 Arboc SOM) •745-747 (2005 D40LF) •748-750 (2009 D40LFR) •751-753 (2010 D40LFR) --- Active buses, interlining, last day of service dates, etc. can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fz3qBB75gf-DIdSci0IhqokrEczigAh6TU91cfV2IDM/edit?usp=drivesdk

GrandeWest_B35G
One thing I've noticed is the 53/61 extra run no longer exists. The buses now wait at the mall for 15 minutes so they line up with 30.
GrandeWest_B35G
American seating 6468 seat cushions are now being replaced with 4One Aires, and it looks ridiculous. GrandeWest_B35G
There appears to be a fire in the bus garage. There are several fire trucks on the scene. No smoke that I can see. Special Transit buses are being moved into the transit terminal. There is an excavator also on scene, but I believe that's unrelated. I will ask drivers if they know what's going on. --- A sign for Highway 3 Connector has appeared in the terminal as well. Service started yesterday, but the sign was covered up then. Turns out there was a diesel spill at the fuel tanks just outside of the garage. Small fire, no damage (that the driver I talked to could see). All vehicles were moved as a precaution, which is why the terminal was filled with Arbocs (and 760 @Articulated). The excavator was, in fact, unrelated. GrandeWest_B35G
They have started removing the ads from 747 and (finally) putting them on the C40LFRs. Considering 747 hasn't missed a day of service since April, I think the last D40LF in Medicine Hat doesn't have much time left

GrandeWest_B35G
After being MIA since May 26 (when I spotted it tracking at the garage), 749 has been spotted in the storage compound, and is presumed retired. This is the first D40LFR to go, despite the fact that I haven't spotted any Vicinities yet. This marks 2/8 diesel retirements (746 and 749), and reduces the spare ratio to 15% (19% if you include Special Transit). --- All of the 2010 Arbocs have now had their air conditioners removed. Perhaps they will put them on the new Glavals (which also haven't been delivered yet). The 2009 Arbocs still keep their ACs.

GrandeWest_B35G
An all-white 35' diesel Vicinity passed me, en route to Calgary for unknown reasons. It was sitting on a flatbed truck. In other news, all diesel buses were out today

GrandeWest_B35G
Don't know if the trackers are to be believed, but DoubleMap shows 749 as being active on the 11/22/20. Last I saw it, it was parked in the storage compound beside 746.

Remember when Calgary Transit 8371 was tracking as 1726? That's because they took the CAD out of 1726, put it into 8371 but likely forgot to change it in the system. True, but a driver showed me how easy it is to change the fleet number on the tablets a while back. You just go into settings and it's right there. He made it track as bus 007 for a couple runs before someone said something to him.
GrandeWest_B35G
It was, indeed, 749! My guess is that it was in the compound waiting for parts.
GojiMet86
Is there a reason why Medicine Hat Transit uses the 700 numbers? I noticed their new Grande West Vicinity buses are using numbers from very recently retired buses.
