VIDEO: Good Money Spent....

Nice, congrats!

What's the history on that bus?

She spent her entire life as a Airport Shuttle bus for Miami Dade Airport. She originally had a 8V71. But they replaced it with a 6V92.

Trevor, was that built *with* the Orion headlamps and Flxible taillights, or were those tacked on after?

No, they were aftermark add ons that the Miami Dade Airport Shuttle added on themselves.

Also, curious: Were automatic transmissions common on 1980s New Looks?

Yes. I don't think any manual shift transmissions were fitted into any GM New Looks from the 1980's. I believe the last ones were built in the mid 1970's.

Automatic Transmissions aren't that new. The old automatic transmission though were all mechanism, no computer.

a hydraulic "hydramatic" 2 speed was available before the new look was even devised.- goes back to the yellow coach days, iirc.

God that sounds great! They reminds me of Torrance Transit's Gillig Phantoms with their 6v92's. Only two remain in service with those engines 433 and 437, the rest have been re-powered with DD50's.

I have some HD video I should upload to youtube at some point of it.
