What is your opinion about bringing animals (especially dogs) on any TTC vehicle?

I'm kinda opposed to it because I'm allergic to dogs.

When a dog is very close to me.. my eyes tend to get itchy and uncomfortable.

I believe there are many people who are allergic to dogs.. and getting scared in front of it.

I saw a dog barked inside the bus... and it was very uncomfortable.

Here's my opinion

I have to say no animals should be allowed on any TTC vehicle

except for any service dogs for people with special needs.

I see nothing wrong with bringing a caged animal on the TTC (to take to the vet for example). I don't know how anyone thinks it's okay to bring a non-service animal on the TTC that can brush against, or lick, passengers.

I think caged animal is ok... but I see people bring their pets without cages so often

why not institute the "no eating/drinking" on bus rule also? Lots of other agencies (Barrie Transit, for one) have this policy. Everybody lives, everybody gets where they need to go, no one is hurt, buses are cleaner.

It get's into trouble because of trip lengths. No one in Barrie is taking 90 minute or 2-hour transit trips.

For example, does the diabetic delay travelling, take breaks during their trip, or simply eat something on the bus. And if you make the exception for them, do you require them to provide ID that they are diabetic?

What about small children? Would you prefer that the pregnant person eat a snack while on their 90-minute trip, or pass out when they stand-up on the train, delaying passengers.

Not to mention enforceability.

No, they only operate on non-holiday weekdays.

I think caged animal is ok... but I see people bring their pets without cages so often

I've seen a chihuahua sitting on a bus seat and a big dog (forgot the breed) on a subway seat. As much as I love dogs, seats are for humans, not pets.

I found out there are more service during Saturday evening and night.. than weekday evening and night.

I checked the schedule at Islington Station

During the weekday,

There are only five buses during 9pm period (9:10, 9:21, 9:33, 9:50, 9:58)

and four buses for

10pm (10:20, 10:23, 10:42, 10:50)

11pm (11:07, 11:20, 11:35, 11:50)

and

12am (12:05, 12:20, 12:35, 12:50)

However on Saturday

There are SEVEN buses during 9pm period (9:00, 9:05, 9:13, 9:28, 9:35, 9:43, 9:58)

and six each for

10pm (10:05, 10:13, 10:28, 10:35, 10:43, 10:58)

11pm (11:05, 11:13, 11:28, 11:35, 11:43, 11:58)

and

12am (12:05, 12:13, 12:28, 12:35, 12:43, 12:58)

Do you know why 37 Islington has more service during Saturday night period compare to the weekdays?

I think it is the only bus route on TTC with that characteristics

Same with the extra Saturday service on the 7 Bathurst and some additional running time for trips to go onto 310, still hate the fact that the 37B runs on its own schedule two minutes apart from the A on Sundays

Cause they think more people go to Woodbine Centre on weekends. The 37A has better headways on Weekends in general.

So, there is more 52G on The Westway has the best service on Sunday Midday (8min). Saturday Midday is 8.5min and Mon-Fri Midday is 15 min. AM rush is 12min and PM rush is 11min. Saturday Early Morning is 24min while Sunday Early morning is 15min.

On the 52A/B/D on Dixon, headways are more consistence which are M-F (7.5min), Sat (8.5min) and Sun (8min).

70 O'Connor is like this as well, every 11 minutes on Saturday but every 10 on Sunday. When this happens it's usually because Saturdays have longer running times than Sundays, though the route has the same number of buses allocated on both days.

I don't see a problem with pets. If you're allergic to pets, you can get up and move to another spot on the train or bus. Not that many people bring pets on the TTC in the first place.

Except for the fact that there are some really stupid people with pets, who let the pets sit on the seats (even if they weigh more then 40 pounds).

Yes and no. Pets are not allowed on TTC vehicles during the rush hours with the exception of service animals. At any other time, they are permitted. I saw a stroller once loaded with cats during the rush hour. I had a passenger bringing a husky on the bus during rush hour the other day. I just reminded her that pets are not allowed during rush hour.

The problem is on weekends the 37A runs on a 12 minute headway whereas the 37B runs every 20 minutes. Certain trips are going to run close.

why not institute the "no eating/drinking" on bus rule also? Lots of other agencies (Barrie Transit, for one) have this policy. Everybody lives, everybody gets where they need to go, no one is hurt, buses are cleaner.

They don't even back us up on fare collection anymore. You expect them to support this? Good luck.

Sure they do, as well everyone should. But they started right from the get go and took it seriously. TTC never did or cared, that`s why they pay for bus cleaners. Is it a practical rule when you`re moving the masses TTC does on any given day? Hell, people still smoke on the property and that`s the No.1 rule, supposedly.

It seems that the TTC has started putting the live subway arrival times online. The same data also now appears in the transit app on my phone rather than just the scheduled times.

A week ago, I did the ultimate test at Dundas Station. What I discover was LIES and LIES. Both SB and NB were off by 2-3 minutes. It doesn't match anything with the screens at all. It's nice that they are fooling the public that the times online look real now with uneven headways but the website says Due with no trains at all.

Kinda hard to believe that the next three trains at old Mill are in 7 min, 7 min, 8 min. SRT isn't in the program as well

According to TTC, people are not supposed to enter stations via roadway. Anyways people get angry and don't understand when op does not open back door for them to board and asks them to show pop or who cares with the new memo???

Anyways people get angry and don't understand when op does not open back door for them to board and asks them to show pop or who cares with the new memo???

Basically a free for all now.The fare evaders just wait for the next bus if the present driver doesn't let them on, happens everyday at Finch as if the TTC doesn't know
