New Flyer D40LF 7335
I also read that 8634 had the seat right behind the driver has been retrofitted like the artics, is that true?

Ed T.
Question for Queensway operators: is the Lake Shore EB at Fortieth stop (first one out of Long Branch loop) in service or not? I caught a bus there Monday. Tuesday, the bus passed me by, with the operator waving at me like "bye bye". I put in a complaint. Wednesday, there's a "Stop out of Service" sign up with directions that would probably confuse non-transit-fans. Thursday and today, no NIS sign. Nevertheless, I walked to Thirty Seventh since there was no bus coming when I was at Fortieth. The op who picked me up said "sure, stop is in service unless it has a sign". It's not clear to me if it's worth waiting at that stop. But the alternatives are a real pain, as I might have to jaywalk across Lake Shore or trudge a good way west to get to the pickup in the streetcar loop. No reply from TTC regarding my complaint as of yet.

Good luck, they never respond or give u a good response, if they respond they say something like this "Sorry, for the inconvenience but that driver had right of way of going past you". Maybe you can go to the next stop?

And they did respond to my Monday complaint about four 501L buses all leaving the Long Branch layover in a group and running eastbound as a pack. Looks like the Fortieth St. stop is back in service, anyway. Maybe it was one of those 'local' initiatives that Central Command wasn't aware of (until my complaint, anyway).

It's astonishing that they still haven't solved this issue. Is it really that hard for management to look at a GPS map and figure out their is consistently buses traveling in packs at virtually any given point in the time during the day on the 501. All the drivers that operate the route know this happens on the regular and basically admit it to riders that ask what's going on. The TTC loves to complain that they dont have the money to do X and Y, but yet they cant figure out basic things when they're given any sum of money in the first place. For a while there was an inspector posted at Long Branch, from at least 6 AM to maybe 6 PM. The departures were reasonably staggered. But I haven't seen one out there recently. And yet, CIS called up in a matter of seconds when the 110B I was on inadvertently (?) became a 110A by running up Brown's Line. You'd think the software could detect that there are four buses laying over, the first two are overdue (to judge by the crowds at the stops), and that all four leave in a group. I was watching from across the street, and it sure looked like they planned it out, too.

The thing with the TTC is, there shouldnt have to be an inspector posted somewhere to ensure staggered departures. The fact that they have GPS on all vehicles and arent utilizing properly is simply embarrassing. To me it's simply a matter of a group of people who are unable (either due to a lack of skill or common sense) to space vehicles apart properly.
