Flexity #4410 has returned to service today, after a 61-day absence (previously in service on April 27), Does anyone know what caused the extended downtime period?

In any case, it didn't last in service for very long. It was changed off in the mid-afternoon with car 4444, so it appears something else has happened to it today.

Two more Flexity cars have returned to service today (June 29):

4447 - last in service on June 2 (26 days of downtime)

4453 - last in service on March 22 (98 days of downtime). This one failed in service on Broadview and required towing to Leslie at the time.

By current plans how many CLRVs are expected to remain in service after 2019?

Zero.

Whether than be January 1, 2020 or closer to April 1, 2020 isn't currently clear.

The latest budget switched from running CLRVs until an additional 60 cars were ordered to arrive in 2020-2021, to running extra buses until at least 2026 - or longer if they don't order any more cars.

Probably won't see them make it through the winter. There's enough buses to fill the gap.

So one might surmise from this that 502, 503, 505 will not see streetcars again until 2026, if ever.

505 should see streetcars back later this year, once all the construction is done. It's not clear what they are thinking on 502/503. But it's not clear if the additional peak-hour buses they are running on 501 and 506 will ever be replaced by streetcars. And perhaps that's what we'll see on 502/503 ... mid-day streetcars supplemented by peak-hour buses ... who knows.

Probably if ever, after the Conservatives slashed the $1.1 billion in TTC funding that could have paid for the next 60 streetcars.

A quick glance shows 511 on Saturday is still CLRVs. Since weekdays they have at least 2 Flexities on it, I find it surprising it is all CLRVs today and they should have enough Flexities to run 511 on weekends.

Thought 511 is next in line to be converted?

Service summary says CLRVs. From the August 3 board period perhaps?

It's probably more of a dispatching issue. The ops would have to report to Russell and then walk to Leslie to get their cars. That's not written in the ops work schedule

I’d like to keep Bathurst legacy cars, thank you much. I can’t stand the low floors. I will try and sign old car crews as long as possible

There is nothing surprising about Bathurst being all CLRV's on Saturdays.

501/504/509/510/512 require 94 cars between them during daytime on weekdays; however, that goes up to 112 cars on Saturdays during daytime. This is comparable to the afternoon peak on weekdays, which requires 111 cars on 501/504/509/510/512 combined.

What is a little surprising is the lack of Flexity cars on 511 on Sundays, but that is probably due to scheduling all crews from Russell on paper.

Will we ever see ALRVs in regular service again perhaps on 501L or 511? Or is it safe to assume that they are done with the exception of charters and special runs?

Given the fact that 4204, 4207, 4221, 4228, 4249 are the only cars with GPS on sitting in Russell yard and the CEO report saying they are getting less than 1,000 kn between failures, not the 6,000, they are done. They may hang around until Oct as a stop gap car, but the scrap yard could see them before the year is out. Only haft show up from my last search a few months ago. Lasting until now is luck consider they were all to be gone late 2014 and early 2015 thanks to BBD.

Better catch shots of them in the yard as they will be a thing in the past in 2020, along with most CLRV's.

Haven't seen An ALRV since last year in service.

Will keep shooting CLRV's As long as they are on the road.

Expect to SEE TTC having an final run for CLRV's on X route and be very surprise if it happens for the ALRV's.

As for the PCC's, maybe TTC should send them to Brockville and have them rebuilt like they did for the 81 year old cars in El Peso.

Why? What would this achieve? We've only got two of the things and no one has seriously considered running them in revenue service. They're heritage vehicles.

Two ran in mid May for a few days, 4207 and 4221.

And why an El Paso style rebuild specifically?  The ones they did for MUNI recently were kept much closer to original than the El Pasos.

Last Friday afternoon there was a delay I believe in the Harbourfront tunnel, first reported as a mechanical issue then overhead repairs, lasting several hours. Does anyone know what happened?

4498's pantograph has been replaced. I saw the car in service on 501 with a new pantograph.

Yesterday (July 26) was its first day back in service after the derailment on Bathurst just south of Dundas on July 4.

Car 4504 has also returned to service yesterday after a downtime of 27 days (previously in service on June 28  - anyone know what happened to it?), but apparently it just took a bang at Queen & John this afternoon.
