I didn’t feel like going outside and fighting with the $100 Kijiji gourmet cooking barbecue since I’m on midnights so the cast iron got the nod instead.  Every kitchen should have a 12” cast iron pan, in my opinion.

Anyways, pan seared pork chops, gravy, sweet potatoes and yellow beans plus enough leftovers to take me to the end of the shift rotation without having to cook again.  I’m tired.  The microwave oven’s going to be my best friend the next couple of nights.

Lettuce boats and a lovely thick slushy Mississippi Mud smoothie (Paradise Trio Frozen fruit mix - strawberry, peach, mango - blueberries, banana, Health Break Oasis Juice fortified with Omega 3 and some Superfood Greens supplement).

Neighbor took me for lunch at Tony Roma's in exchange for looking after her place last week. We both had the Lunch Special Riblings & two side dishes.

Supper: A kind neighbor brought over a head of Romaine lettuce and a tomato so I whipped up a quick Caesar salad, only with Bleu Cheese dressing instead of Caesar dressing.

And a dish of fruit for dessert - a watermelon slice, a Gala apple and a banana.

Brunch? Dinner?  I don’t know what to call this meal from the perspective of coming off the midnight shift and trying to get turned around.  Anyways it’s bacon, waffles, hash browns.  Good to listen to the Doug Ford announcement by, for whatever it’s worth.

Breakfast of champions?  Or at least of someone who’s got a ton of back yard cleanup ahead.

A variation of yesterday’s theme with the addition of a bunch of fried eggs.

I’m having another cup of coffee while this settles and then I’ll be heading outside to take on several weeks of overgrowth that’s gotten pretty bad with all the rain we’ve been having.

Lunch: An Aloo Keema wrap (ground beef, potato & curry) with a side of hot sauce from Remedy Cafe.

Supper: A kind neighbor brought over some piping hot pasta.  I added some grated cheese and some hot salsa.

Dessert: A slice of watermelon and a dish of Cappuccino Yogurt. (I added a packet of Instant Turkish Coffee to some Fat Free Vanilla Yogurt).

This is what I had earlier - when I went to an in-person (walk-in) ribfest in my hometown since the pandemic began (up until recently, the ribfest was downsized to a drive-thru version - but this time they've started to offer a walk-in version for the first time in a while).

ICYW (In case you're wondering), it's a jerk chicken burrito with fries.
