What are you eating right now?

Recommended Posts

Nothing fancy, just a Cobb salad from Safeway deli. Added some small Brie wedges (and also some grated Parmesan and slivers of sweet onion, however I took the photo before I added that).

I'm enjoying this plate of leftovers from last night.

This isn't as extravagant a meal as it looks at first glance. I bought two angus ribeye steaks for $22, so about $11 each, and a couple dollars worth of sweet potatoes. Ignoring the cost of the herbs and spices I had on hand and the energy to actually cook the meals, I figure I'm at about $12 for that lunch I'm eating which is pretty much the same as what a styrofoam box of fried crap down in the food court costs.  Except the food court's closed on weekends so that option's off the table right now anyways and anything I bring in from home is far better and costs about the same if not less.

Had a Mr.  Noodle 'Pho' for a quick lunch, and now chowing down on a prefab Cobb Salad from Safeway (with some added grated cheese and some sweet onion to give it some extra flavor).

I'm enjoying my day off with a coffee that my neighbour brought me and a perfectly marinated New York Strip from last night. My wife takes food VERY seriously!

Actually, I had diet Pepsi, the lady across from me had sweet tea in the Dr. Pepper glass. The restaurant uses glasses supplied by their beverage distributor. Having said all of that, I would have had diet Dr. Pepper (10, 2, & 4!) if the had it.

One of my friends and I pooled our resources to do a surf and turf barbecue for New Years but we moved it up a night because of the 25 mm of rain in the forecast for today.  We ended up having a feast!  I couldn't eat everything on that plate last night so I'm having leftovers now.

For New Year's Eve I will be trying out my ghost pepper salsa I got for Christmas!

Yum. There is also a ghost pepper nacho cheese sauce that is super delicious.  Right now I am having a Mr. Noodle soup bowl with scorpion pepper hot sauce.

Some 'heat 'n' eat' scalloped potatoes from Safeway deli. I added some broccolini, tomato, sweet onion, chicken and hot sauce.

I'm at home on a midweek day off.

I made a plate of bacon and eggs for a late breakfast/lunch. I've got a Steely Dan live album playing. The truck's in the shop for service and the city inspector who came to check out the water line left a while ago so now it's time to enjoy some comfort food and just relax...

I'm enjoying an ice cold Bud Light and a double smoked bacon cheddar burger from a Pickering grocery store.
