405 is still in service as I saw it on Major Mac.

Yep 405 is still hitting service most days usually on a rush hour block. Today it’s on route 80 Elgin Mills

I believe last week there was a day it was on the 9 for a full day run

2009 Eldorado EZ-Rider II MAX 992 plus 2010 Eldorado EZ-Rider II BRTs 1070 & 1072 are retired, they are parked in Southeast's dead lot with the licence plates already taken off

In addition, anyone know if YRT is retiring the 2010 Nova LFX artics (1080-1094)? I've started to see them disappear; 1087 last seen in June 2021 as a example while a good chunk of them were last seen more than a year ago according to Transsee

(Note: 405's last day in service was May 30, 2023, when it did an AM run on route 25 according to Transsee and has not been out since then)

I hadn’t seen any 30 footers out on the 9 in a while, so I decided to look and it’s probably noteworthy that 1161 is the only non-community 30 ft. bus at Miller division that has seen service in the past few weeks, per Transsee. And it seems to have just done one trip today on route 80.

The other ones that were still active this year:

1066- last in service Jul. 13 on route 9

1067- last in service Jun. 1 on route 80

1069- last in service Jul. 31 on route 522

1071- last in service Jun. 30 on route 9

1162- last in service Jul. 6 on route 80

Unrefurbished

I’m aware. And they’re all 12+ years old at this point. I’m sure those 99x buses don’t have much life left in them either. Once those are gone, I wonder what buses will operate the Community routes

The only remaining one is 522, so I wouldn't be surprised if that gets converted to on-demand.

What is your source for the "official" retirement?

This isn't my photo but here is the proof:

No description available.

As for the 99x Eldorados, looks like 995 & 996 are retired (they were last seen in October and a Southeast supervisor told me that two of the 99x were already done based on a Fleet Services email), 991 & 994 were last in service on November 17

Not sure about the fate of 10xx Novas, the last time 1091 was out was on November 17; 1084 was last out on November 9 while 1093 was last out on November 1 (1086 should be considered retired as it suffered an engine failure on August 4 while doing the Purple and hasn't been out since then)

Thank you for providing the proof. I agree, buses parked in a line deplated and with logos removed certainly indicates they are retired.

The two 99x that are "already done" would be 992 and 993. The remaining units (991, 994-996) could still be active but awaiting repairs or parts.

I recently viewed a tender for York Region that contained a List of Various Surplus Transit Buses. All of the units on the following list would be retired:

403, 405, 406, 550, 991, 994, 995, 996, 1060, 1061, 1062, 1063, 1064, 1080, 1081, 1082, 1083, 1084, 1086, 1088, 1089, 1090, 1091, 1092, 1092, 1094, 1067, 1069

Given the presence of certain units (namely the 4xx), it seems to indicate that these are buses that were officially retired at any point in 2023, although many of the buses on this list were in service as recently as October or mid-November 2023.

Also, information from another contact has said that 992, 1070, 1072, 1160 were sold off in the "last round", i.e. in 2022.

2010 Eldorado EZ-Rider II BRT 1071 was reactivated today on route 522 (it was listed as retired)

You can tell how long it's been since it's been in service that it still has the "Masks or Face Coverings Recommended" PR message up.

Because Miller only had 2 functioning ElDorados, they have a very low spare ratio given that route 522 requires two buses to operate 6 days a week. Some of the ones that haven't been listed for disposal yet might come back to provide additional(/a) spares, until a more permanent strategy for equipping the 522 can be implemented.

One of the YRT 2xx AG300 Van Hool Articulated Bus is still at North Garage to this day.  Please note that these photos were taken at the back of a Chevrolet car dealership parking lot not in North garage.

Probably one of the former 4 mobile COVID VAX units they had at Wonderland and Emily Carr SS.
