EDIT (5:30pm): OC Transpo has posted the modified service onto their web site (https://www.octranspo.com/en/news/article/changes-to-service-levels/). It's worth pointing out that routes that normally operate on weekdays only would continue to operate during the week, despite running a Saturday service levels. Specific details to be made available later this week.

I had to actually complain to OC about this. FINALLY they did something... The AM trips SPECIFICALLY were geared for QCH employees who usually have to be there by 7 AM. As of my complaint before on the Routes thread, there was no way to transfer to the 58 accordingly.

I'm surprised it took them THIS long to fix this problem. Also, near QCH is Revera retirement so I'm sure servers, PSWs can rejoice for not spending $$$$ on Uber anymore.

Also,  the reason there is a 6:45 special trip from Bayshore is because (as I complained before), the 57 Bayshore arrival is 6:45 ish.

Summer U-Pass update

Fall and winter U-Pass cards will expire on April 30, 2020 for all Algonquin College, Carleton University, University of Ottawa, and Saint Paul University students.

Carleton University, University of Ottawa, and Saint Paul University

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carleton University, University of Ottawa, and Saint Paul University have suspended the summer U-Pass program. Student U-Pass fees have been waived.

Please do not throw out your current U-Pass. It can be re-used next semester.

Algonquin College

The summer U-Pass program will continue for Algonquin College students. Full-time students will receive a new U-Pass in the mail, to replace their expired cards.

The summer U-Pass is valid starting May 1, 2020 until August 31, 2020.

Pay with Presto this summer

If travelling on OC Transpo this summer, Carleton University, University of Ottawa, and Saint Paul University students, as well as Algonquin College students not taking classes this summer, will need to purchase and load a Presto card.

EquiPass

The EquiPass may be an option for some students during the summer, depending on income. All applications must be sent by mail.

Apply early because approvals can take up to 30 business days.

Bike rack installation has begun

OC Transpo has posted a news article about Rack and Roll starting up for 2020: https://www.octranspo.com/en/news/article/rack-roll-is-gearing-up-2020/

In the article, there is important information in regards to loading bikes on bus bike racks, as a result of COVID-19.

Passengers with bikes are reminded to signal to the operator, or make eye contact with the operator, before loading their bike. Passengers are also reminded to make eye contact with the operator, or let the operator know it is their stop, before exiting the bus and unloading their bike.

Quote

The Rack & Roll program is returning with 750 bike racks on major bus routes across the city, including Routes: 12, 15, 25, 35, 39, 45, 55, 57, 61, 62, 63, 74, 75, 85, 88, 97, 98 and 99, as well as Line 2 buses.

All bike racks will be installed by the end of May. Use the Travel Planner to see which trips have racks installed.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, you’re reminded to board at the back for your own safety and that of bus operators.

Please remember to signal to the operator or make eye contact before loading your bike.

Before exiting the bus, let the operator know you’re approaching your stop and make eye contact before unloading your bike.

Which route do you take from Elmvale shopping may to the General Hospital? I know it was route 106, but can remember what it turn in to or if there's any other route? I know there's the 45 from Hurdman, but don't want o go all the way there as it faster from Elmvale?

Trim Line Shut down?

Question?

Now that Trim Line 2 is shut down for 2 years or so, what are the operators going to do?

Are they going to drive the Bus replacement buses. From my understanding once these operators moved to the "LRT Division/Operations" they lost there seniority as bus operators(I think not 100% sure) if so, how will they "Fit In" back to "Bus Operators"?
