My mother takes Para and at times its worst then OC.  True they have cabs(regular & accessible but those are only so many that are aside to Para in a given shift(Eastway,Capuial & Blue Line))but either more cabs or more Para buyses are needed.With Para Transpo now excepting more users with more disablities(not excepted before)ridership has increased.  With the majority "Baby Boomers" will be in their 'Golden Years' in less then 10 years, demand will increase at least 25% or more. Yes they can take regular transit, but OC does go to every single place riders want to go and don't offer door to door service. Those who are are elderly and use mobility aids can tell you just walking from the bus stop to their appointment can be tiresome . Oc needs to at leasrt double their Bus fleet. By the time the bus gets to Blair/Tunney's, it's already loaded and there isn't enough room for the folks riding the train to get on. Once the "Really Big Service Change" happens on October 6, everybody will have to get on at Blair/Tunney's, where buses will be showing up empty, ready to take on a full load of passengers instead of already being half full and being passed up won't be an issue anymore (or won't be as much of an issue at least). So your back to here you started. Not enough room to get onn because to many people are tring to get onm at the same time.  Also there short of drivers, they want to lay off drivers and still there going to have issue even worst then they dso now in tring to get people home.  I TOLD YOU SO THIS WOULD HAPPEN!!! On October 7th, there will be the same number of buses, if not more, leaving Tunney's Pasture, Hurdman and Blair as there were on September 13th. The drivers and buses that are being laid off and retired are because there won't be 80 buses stuck in a line on Albert and Slater streets anymore. All of these people were getting on the buses downtown before. Ridership will probably increase slightly with the train, but thousands of people didn't switch to transit over the weekend. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You have all of these buses still getting delayed in the same traffic in the core, only to get slammed by a large amount of people waiting for the buses that got delayed in traffic. If there was proper traffic flow in the core, there wouldnt be people waiting at the end of the train for their bus. Should be less of an issue come Oct 7.
