Mainly people don't care much about buses and streetcars. There just surface vehicles.

Actually you would be amazed. If a shuttle bus shows up to the stop with the same desto has a streetcar, people will question it, and ask the same question 10 times, even though the bus travels along the same route as the streetcar.

Most of it would share the streetcar track except where it would loop at.

Just eliminate streetcars  and replaced them with buses west of Humber loop Permanently . It would be welcomed.

The current 501 Humber to LB isn't that bad compared to the Neville Park to LB route. The Queensway, Park Lawn to Lake Shore alignment takes consumes a lot of time in rush hour. I do agree that the roadway is more suited for buses than streetcars. Maybe if they would upgrade every stop to an island platform and better transit priority.

It kinda makes more sense because it is in Etobicoke but the service on Queen is fine.

Except that won't happen cause this is the TTC and they just rebuilt many of the island platforms. I rather they build the Park Lawn loop and run service from Neville Park to Park Lawn only. The 301 can continue to LB. Humber loop is a horrible place to transfer at night.

Eventually they should built the waterfront west LRT and run streetcars from LB to Union.

The 501 from Humber to LB should be run with buses permanently but that won't happen. Never seen the ridership so happy when they run the buses that way like when they were doing track work and the platform replacements....finally consistent service.

That's because the TTC ran close to two buses for each scheduled ALRV. Of course with scheduling like that, people will be happier. The buses weren't all that reliable either, though. Put on more streetcars, people will also be happy.

Mostly by car drivers who would never, never dream of taking public transit. That also eliminates the possibility of through trips to downtown. Believe it or not, there are plenty of passengers who ride from points on Lake Shore to points on Queen.

Or run the 145, and replace the 501 service west of Humber. and eliminate the premium fare. or Bring back 507, untill a realistic plan is brought forward.

 Considering the Queen car, when it was running through to downtown/Neville, was carrying way more people than the 145, this is a strange proposal. Not to add that the buses get stuck in traffic on Lake Shore, which can be much worse than traffic on Queen. The only reason the 145 can beat the streetcar downtown is because it is not stopping east of the Humber. That's all very nice for riders who want to go to the central core; not so good if they want to go to Dufferin, Ossington, or other parts of Queen West. And the bus only beats the streetcar by about 10 minutes. Oh, and that was in 2012/2013, before the Gardiner lane reductions that have no doubt added several more rings to the three-ring circus that is Lake Shore/Gardiner in rush hour.

- Due to construction work on College Street, 506 CARLTON will operate with buses on the western side and streetcars on the eastern side. 47 LANSDOWNE diverts via Dufferin and 511 BATHURST begins its bustitution over the course.
- With the construction at St. Clair and St. Clair West stations, the 74 MOUNT PLEASANT and 88 SOUTH LEASIDE that terminates at St. Clair will loop Avoca, Pleasant Boulevard, Yonge and St. Clair with transfer connections at the Pleasant Boulevard entrance. 90 VAUGHAN will be extended to Bathurst Stn. and 33 FOREST HILL and 126 CHRISTIE will be interlined from Christie Stn. to Eglinton.
- Construction on the Broadview Station bus terminal loop will last all summer and services will loop via Erindale, Ellerbeck, Danforth and Broadview.

Surprisingly they are keep the 72C. I thought the 72A was going to replace 72C to Union.

Buses will replace 506 Carlton cars west of Yonge  during the weekday, and on weekends the whole route will be buses.

Cutting service on the SRT is the best thing to do for reliability sake. this should have been done awhile back. Maybe add a 21E between STC and Kennedy, but the bus fleet is way too spread out.

No, there's no 72C anymore. It's just 72A and 72B. With every other bus heading down to Union, the route is going to be a disaster. 72B's from Union would speed past QQ and Commissioners arriving at Eastern/Carlaw 2-3 min early. NB at Eastern we're going to see headways like 6' 12' 7' 11' 9' 10' 8' 14' 4'11' 8'...... This happens on every route with branches and this new 72 will be no difference.

If we look at a route like the 52 with 4 branches on weekdays, we often see 2-3 52's running together even when they are suppose to be 3' apart. The 52's on Dixon are always late, 52G's are likely to be early and the 52F's leave on time. This leads to a 52A (late) follow by a 52G (early) and a 52F (early) with no one to pick up. A 5-8 min gap appears and this happens again.

The express bus between the two stations is already the 131E. All they would need to do is reallocate the service on the 131 bus.

Maybe it's time for a 129E or extend some of the 199 to Kennedy.

Will I was thinking just focusing on STC to Kennedy, that's why I mentioned 21 and not 131.

This was nearly my idea I kept:

  • 199A - Finch Stn.-Kennedy Stn.*
  • 199B - York University-Scarborough Centre Stn. via Finch Stn.
  • 199C - Finch Stn.-Morningside Heights

* This should replace the 131E cutting the 131A NUGGET back to STC. Routing extension options will be either: via Brimley and Eglinton with stops at Ellesmere, Lawrence, Eglinton/Brimley, Midland, Kennedy Stn. OR Ellesmere/Brimley, Ellesmere/Midland, Norbury, Lawrence, Wainfleet/Broadbent, Eglinton, Kennedy Stn.

129 and 131 has a lot more rider than 199 on McCowan. Getting rid of the 131E doesn't help. If people have to take a bus from Kennedy to STC and transfer, they would either take the SRT to STC instead. Even in the morning I notice that a lot of people would rather take the SRT than the 131E to Kennedy.

Most of the 131E riders are coming from Malvern so its a one seat ride to Kennedy.

Yes and if you try to take the 131 at STC, you'll be left standing. If they do this with the 129, they'll grab a whole bunch of people off the SRT. If you do this with the 199, it wouldn't help much.

If anything but it would require more buses would be to keep the 131E but also add the 129E route as well to Kennedy. But also Kennedy is already a zoo at rush hour.

If the SRT continues to fail with less reliable service, they'll need more buses. I think it's something to consider in the new 2-3 years. All people boarding the SRT would have to go through the bus terminal either way.

I was talking the bus traffic being a zoo, but it is better since they did the platform switching for some routes.

Service summary is out:
http://www.ttc.ca/PDF/Transit_Planning/Service_Summary_2016_06_19.pdf

Seems to me, as anyone would noticed, 121 FORT YORK-ESPLANADE will be operated out of Birchmount Division. Others would also notice 126 CHRISTIE will also move (or return) to Wilson Division when interlined with the 33 FOREST HILL. Routes 24D VICTORIA PARK and 224 VICTORIA PARK NORTH will now be operated by York Region Transit's Southeast Division as part of the new 24 WOODBINE route.

Other changes:

  • 506/306 CARLTON (split with New Eglinton, Malvern (sans 306) and Mount Dennis - Keele Stn. to Church on weekdays, and the whole route on weekends)
  • 512 ST. CLAIR (split with Arrow Road, Mount Dennis and Wilson, entire route. Mount Dennis continues to operate 312 ST. CLAIR-JUNCTION BLUE NIGHT).

Other major changes (that you missed):

90 Vaughan will run into Bathrust Station instead of SCW

511 Bathurst will provide a one seat ride from Bathurst Station to the EX with buses operated by Queensway and Birchmount. The 509/511 looping route shuttle bus will discontinue.

11 Bayview will see the 11C branch replace the 11B branch during rush hour. 11B is discontinued.

28 Bayview South will receive full service operating at all times.

72 Pape is restored to pre-split service level. TTC is advertising that they are improving service. That's totally a BS lie as afternoon peak service is till worst than before (7' instead of 6'30").

All the buses operating out of St Clair West Station will be running to Bathurst Station until the ramps are rebuilt, as well rewiring the overhead for pans. This will leave the Yonge station to be rewire this fall while its being upgraded..

Buses will replace the 512 streetcar until the fall (Dec?) with SCW-Gunns going back in once the work is completed for that area.

I also forgot to mention 8 BROADVIEW now runs 20 mins midday and peak periods with two buses, the first time this route increased service since the dreaded cuts that happened on February 18, 1996 when it was cut to only 30 minutes with one bus at all times.

By then hopefully most of the Arrow and Wilson buses got presto.

It's been a couple years since Arrow has operated a streetcar route since their bus repair backlog problems.
