The 501 continue to detour onto King between Shaw and Spadina this board but it's not scheduled with no additional running time. The watermain project should be done already. Now we seen Wilson and Arrow filling in the 501 shuttle with spare crews as it's not scheduled unlike the east end 501 Neville Park shuttles.

Edit: Queensway is also supplying shuttle buses for the 501.

Is it the same contractor that FUBAR'd College street as well?

Service Changes for May 7, 2017 are posted on Steve Munro's blog:
https://swanboatsteve.files.wordpress.com/2017/04/20170507servicechanges.pdf

Some highlights:

  • 501 QUEEN will be operated by buses excluding the Neville-Sunnyside streetcar which will be dominated by ALRVs
  • 503 KINGSTON ROAD and 504 KING reverts to streetcars but the latter will use ALRVs
  • The 509 HARBOURFRONT and 514 CHERRY, however, will use Flexity cars at all times.
  • Construction on Dundas and Gerrard affects the 65 PARLIAMENT, 505 DUNDAS and 506/306 CARLTON routes.
  • Interlining on routes 5 AVENUE ROAD/56 LEASIDE and 51 LESLIE/61 AVENUE ROAD NORTH will be suspended due to Metrolinx construction.
  • Construction on Royal York station will see route interlined: 15 EVANS/48 RATHBURN and 73 ROYAL YORK/76 ROYAL YORK SOUTH. However, the 315 EVANS-BROWNS LINE BLUE NIGHT will be diverted to Islington Stn. instead. Evans buses have not been present at that station since 1984 back when the 15 was routed to Islington.
  • 121 FORT YORK-ESPLANADE resumes service to Cherry Street.
  • Downsview is now renamed to Sheppard West Stn.
  • As everyone on the board mentioned, 57 MIDLAND is being moved to Malvern from Birchmount to balance fleet capacity. Malvern has not operated that route since 2000.
  • With construction on Coxwell Stn. winding down, the 70 O'CONNOR resumes interlining with 16 McCOWAN (Sunday late evening) and 135 GERRARD (late evening, weekdays).
  • 63 OSSINGTON ends northbound at Atlantic and King
  • 131 NUGGET will change its end routing after 3:00 pm to Morningview Trail & Sewell's Road, just one stop of the existing terminus at Old Finch Avenue.

Do you happen to know if the garage change of 57 Midland is permanent?

I don't see any 501 streetcars at any time of day/week.  Looks to me 100% buses ... 65 in AM peak and 62 in PM peak.

Compared to 27 ALRVs and 23 buses in AM peak and 31 ALRVs and 23 buses in PM peak previously.

Perhaps Steve fixed something

Service Changes pertained to reconstruction work at Kennedy and Wilson Stns.:

  • Routes 12 KINGSTON ROAD, 20 CLIFFSIDE, 21 BRIMLEY, 34 EGLINTON EAST, 43 KENNEDY, 57 MIDLAND, 86 SCARBOROUGH, 113 DANFORTH, 116 MORNINGSIDE, 131 NUGGET and 198 UofT SCARBOROUGH ROCKET will be moved to an temporary terminal in the parking lot, in the fare paid area. Interline for routes 20 and 62 MORTIMER is suspended.
  • In contrast to the Upper Terminal reconstruction in 2007, the North Terminal at Wilson will not be reopened (sorry guys, you're out of luck to explore it). Instead, routes 96 WILSON (WB), 118 THISTLE DOWN, 119 TORBARRIE, 165 WESTON ROAD NORTH (WB) and 186 WILSON ROCKET (WB) will be moved to the Lower Terminal while the temporary terminal in the fare paid area will serve only routes 29 DUFFERIN, 104 FAYWOOD and 160 BATHURST NORTH.

Other changes:

  • 22 COXWELL/322 COXWELL NIGHT will divert SB from Coxwell via Dundas to Kingston Rd, then returning west to loop via Kingston Road, Eastern Ave, Coxwell and Queen. Evening and weekend service diverted WB via the same loop from Kingston Rd then east via Queen and Kingston Rd to Dundas, and west to Coxwell.
  • 501 QUEEN/301 QUEEN NIGHT service will divert both ways via Eastern Ave and Woodward Ave. The relief point will be moved from Queen & Kingston Rd to Queen & Connaught. 502 DOWNTOWNER will follow the same path.
  • 503 KINGSTON ROAD streetcar service is once again replaced by buses. Diversion is the same as 501 but downtown loop via Wellington and York will be used.
  • 506 CARLTON shuttle buses currently operates between Main Street Stn to Queen & Coxwell but the level of streetcar service and running times are unchanged. Trips to Russell Carhouse will be via Broadview Avenue.
  • The relief point for 89 WESTON will be changed from Weston Rd & Ray Ave to Weston Rd & Eglinton Ave W.
  • The AM peak 97B YONGE branch at the southern terminus was changed in May to reverse direction operating via Yonge, Queens Quay, Bay and Front due to construction.
  • The last northbound stop on the 191D HIGHWAY 27 ROCKET (Kipling Stn-Steeles via Royalcrest) branch, in the morning peak period only, will be changed to on Steeles Avenue West at Highway 27, east side to avoid traffic congestion.
  • Minor changes in early morning schedules to routes 15 EVANS, 48 RATHBURN, 73 ROYAL YORK and 76 ROYAL YORK SOUTH.

Well, this is gonna play havoc with passengers transferring to and from Lines 2 and 3 or any connecting bus route.

The service changes for next board are up. Note the removal of the map from the cover:
http://ttc.ca/PDF/Transit_Planning/Service Summary_2017-11-26.pdf

As discussed elsewhere in multiple threads in this board, these changes is the result of the opening of the TYSSE. Among them is Line 1 to operate every 2 minutes during rush hours with short turn service to Glencairn to continue. The changes to the bus routes that have been affected are: 35 JANE, 36 FINCH WEST, 41 KEELE, 60 STEELES WEST, 84 SHEPPARD WEST, 105 DUFFERIN NORTH, 106 SENTINEL (YORK UNIVERSITY - transferred to Wilson), 107 ST. REGIS (KEELE NORTH), 108 DRIFTWOOD (DOWNSVIEW), 117 ALNESS-CHESSWOOD (ALNESS), 165 WESTON RD NORTH, 195 JANE ROCKET, 196 YORK UNIVERSITY ROCKET, 199B FINCH ROCKET, 335 JANE, 341 KEELE and 353 STEELES. Routes 35D, 105B/C, 107B/C/D, and 165D/F are replaced with YRT routes 20, 105, 107 and 165. The most notable exception is the 196, which will be replaced on Sheppard Avenue West by the new but restored 84E Express which previously operated from 1994 to 1995 albeit with two new stops on Brentwood and Wilmington.

Other changes are the 504 KING trippers will resume and will operate every 12 minutes using seven buses. Also missing from the changes is the Kennedy temporary terminal.

It's also good to know that the 36B between the two stations will be scheduled standard 40 ft buses instead of artics. Depending on the dispatcher, we might not see Arrow artics at Finch Station anymore in the daytime. There are some interlining between the 36A and 36B forming the 36J (the current 36A via FInch West Stn) in late evenings.

I've heard in the new year there are routes which will change what division they are out of.  Has anyone else heard anything or can confirm anything?

I've been told 102 Markham RD will move from BMount to Malvern in Feb.

I'm sure that we're going to see quite a bit of movement of routes over the next year as the traffic patterns change and stabilize from the opening of the subway extension.

But yes, Markham Rd. is moving back to Malvern in February.

The last time Malvern had that route before Mt. Dennis opened was when they ran the then-newly delivered #12xx buses. Its good to see Malvern regaining its foothold at Warden Stn. since they discontinued the 102B "Sheppard" branch.

Currently, according to next board's summary, 102 MARKHAM RD needs 20 buses in the AM rush (7 for 102A, 5.5 for 102B/C and 7.5 for 102D) and 22 buses in the PM rush (8 for 102A, 6 for 102B/C and 8 for 102D). With Malvern holding on to 46 18m 60' articulated buses, could that be possible to convert the 102A "Centennial College" to articulated operation on weekdays?

As for the other changes, any routes that are moving?

Another north-south trunk route moving to Malvern - and a long one too, twice the distance traveled by the 129. Probably Malvern's plan to wear out the OG hybrids so they can retire them asap and maybe get some new Novas. Or possibly a set-up for the opening of McNicoll garage, which would inherit most of Malvern's routes and would seem like a high possibility to play host to the TTC's E-bus trial.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff....

I used to take a special kind of pleasure selecting 7000s for change offs on Lawrence and Markham roads just to throw you kids a curveball and watch the reactions.

’‘twas was great fun.

False. Warden has nine-slotted bus bays although Islington can also fit articulated buses as well with MT present.

102 was the second longest. 54 LAWRENCE EAST was the longest at Malvern when it inherited the operations from Birchmount.

Put your tinfoil hat away. The first batch of hybrids have almost all gone through rebuilding, and will be staying around for several more years.

Since when? I don't recall seeing any such restriction listed anywhere.

If that were the case, shouldn't they not be using them on the weekend subway shuttles?

When was the last time yoi saw a nova artic entered warden station?

An instructor did drove an artic down lawrence subway station,  he had a hard time clearing the 90 degree angle turn.

So how will the artics be looping around Lawrence?

During the last closure, artics were dropping off on the se corner of yonge and lawrence, going east on lawrence, and south on st edmunds drive. I have some shots of them on st edmunds, i might edit one into this post later today.
