NanohaBus-PTT moves: New 209 timetable & order for 60 TriStar ML 40C with suburban seats and 40 New Flyer XD60s

LISBON, Portugal - June 28th 2017 - /PRNewswire/ - NanohaBus (NYSE: NBUS) company NanohaBus-PTT announced today a new timetable for the route 209 (between Lisbon (Campo Grande) and Parque das Nações Norte OR Moscavide (Metro)). This new timetable reflects the demand changes for the route, which have suffered a slight decline, due to the fact of the 211A having now a frequency increase for all periods. However, the route continues to use the New Flyer XD60 buses at the weekdays and TriStar TS 45D buses at weekends.

Another news are the orders for 60 TriStar ML 40Cs for replacing the Orion V CNG buses, which come from Foothill Transit of California (allocated to routes like the 319, 536, 556 and 382), which have already some years in the road.

The specification of the buses is:

  • TriStar IBES-G CNG EPA 2017 engine;
  • ZF Ecolife 6AP1400B 6-speed automatic transmission;
  • 45 Isrighausen/Esteban Civic V3 (planning to have 40 standees);
  • Wheelchair elevator;
  • 1 Esteban Totem for Wheelchair;
  • VAPOR front pneumatic doors, rear electric doors with door locking system to avoid unwanted entrances on the bus;
  • Thermo King ATHENIA 1100 air conditioning system with X430 compressor;
  • Bridgestone R297 305/70R22.5 tires;
  • Hanover Displays Full Color LED sign on front display, Monochromatic LED on others (right side and rear);
  • New Sign Solutions (NSS) interior display with accoustic and visual information;
  • Rear-facing camera and monitor;
  • Driver protection cabin.

Another order is for 40 New Flyer XD60s, which will replace the Van Hool AG300s which will be relocated to UTC Algarve. The specification of the buses is:

  • Cummins L9-330 EPA 2017 engine;
  • ZF Ecolife 6AP1700B 6-Speed automatic transmission;
  • Wheelchair ramp;
  • 46 ISRI/Esteban Urban 90 seats (planning to have 103 standees);
  • 3 doors: MASATS 028b pneumatic door in front, 029g electric in the two exit doors;
  • Konvekta KK 80T air conditioning system - with KK80CT compressors on the two bodies;
  • Mizuno multi-coloured LED displays;
  • Frameless windows and a rear window;
  • Michelin XZE2 305/70R22.5 tires with Alcoa aluminum rims;
  • New Sign Solutions (NSS) internal accoustic and visual bus stop announcers.

Both orders were authorised by the CEO and have deliveries to occur between the end of 2017 until mid-2018 (TriStar ML 40C) or between the early 2018 to mid-2018 (New Flyer XD60). All of the buses will be some of the first ones to offer both free Wi-Fi (NanohaBus NetCoach) and USB charging ports.

The ML series was discontinued earlier this year and we are wrapping up the production line now. We are finishing up the final ML 40 order this week and the plan was to begin retooling that part of the that plant for the RE series. We can however add these 60 ML 40C's onto the end of this order and produce them on a limited production line over the next several months, we would only be able to produce 2 per week to not interfere with RE retooling, that would put completion around mid February 2018. You will receive the very last 60 ML 40's built.

If these ML 40Cs will create problems for retooling from the ML series to the RE series, NanohaBus will change the order to 60 TS 45Cs (if the line is still open) with suburban seatings & some little changes. Apologies for any troubles.

Here it is the final specification for the TS 45Cs for NanohaBus:

We can still produce the ML for you as the last order or do the TS 45C instead. Either is ok for us we just have to do the ML starting now as we have no more orders to fill the time between now and the end of the year. The TS 45C we can produce per your original schedule.

NanohaBus goes ahead with the conversion of the 60 ML 40Cs into TS 45Cs (with the changes mentioned). Gives more time to train the personnel with one of the current unit, in order to be ready for the buses when arrive.

TRI STAR GLOBAL INDUSTRIES

June 29, 2017

Furbyville Plant / Campus

Tri Star Bus & Coach is announcing the sale of our Furbyville campus to Nosila Real Estate Holdings LLC effective July 1, 2017.  Tri Star will be ending all operations on the site in July 2017 and plan to vacate the campus by end of August 2017. Tri Star has leased a new building in the same area that will serve as our support and parts center for Furbyville area. The plant and all production for Tri Star Furbyville will end in July. While some jobs will be retained and moved to the new support center it is estimated 800 positions will be eliminated at the Furbyville location. Layoff notices were handed out to all staff today that will be affected. Some positions will transfer to other Tri Star facilities and all affected employees will be given the option to relocate with their position. In January Tri Star announced our plans to shut down the ML line of high floor buses, while our original plan was to convert the Furbyville plant to build our new RE line a new option emerged for that RE line that Tri Star could not pass up. We thank all our employees at the Furbyville campus for their dedication over the years. All employees not retained by Tri Star will be given severance and support packages, access to job re-training and placement assistance free of cost.

Long Beach CA

Tri Star is excited to announce we closed escrow today on a 200 acre, 475,000 sq ft complex located in Long Beach, Calif. The site is situated next to the Long Beach Airport and is located on property that was the former home to Douglas Aircraft, McDonnell Douglas and Boeing. The site consists of 3 building and a large lot. Construction is in final stages on the brand new, state of the arte, LEED certified building. Tri Star will begin tooling this location to build our RE line of buses and offer sales, support and parts to the Southern California and South-Western US. We plan to have the facility operating by September 2017 and the plant begin production by Mid Spring 2018. Tri Star has begun the hiring process for this facility today. In addition we have leased an additional 100 acres owned by Long Beach Airport and an office building owned by Boeing. We anticipate having about 1500 employees at this location once it is up to full staff levels.

SMRT:

  • Two buses collided with each other. #6051, a TriStar TS40D and #7035, a New Flyer XD60 collided to each other head on. #6051 was out of service so there were no passengers, #7035 was in revenue service and passengers received minor injuries, nothing serious or fatal. The driver of #6051 was rushed to hospital in serious condition, we hope that he gets well. The driver of #7035 was also injured, but were not severe. The driver of #6051 will be under temporary suspension as he recovers and while the cause is investigated. So far, it looks like the driver of #6051 might be the one to blame.
    • #6051 has been pulled from service. We won't be repairing it yet as we will debate on it's fate as it sustained serious damages to the front.
    • #7035 also was pulled from service. The windshield and sign was damaged but will be sent to New Flyer for repairs.
  • #6001, a New Flyer XD40 was involved in an accident about a few months ago. It's fate has been decided. It will be retired officially. The bus won't be scrapped however, it will remain on property for spare parts.

Following on that story...

  • #7035 recently returned from New Flyer and is back in service.
  • #6051 fate has been determined. The bus will be repaired, but will be used as a test bus for some brand new features we're rolling out starting in August.

SMRT:

Currently, most of our newer buses contain the following: GPSTransit, CAD, SMRT Tap, On-board WiFi. We are pleased to announce upgrades which will be added to our newer buses from 2017 onwards. These new features include:

  • Improved information system. The new system is AVIS (Audio Visual Information System). AVIS will be added onto #6051 as a demo. AVIS will handle automated announcements as well as visual signage. AVIS will replace CAD on newer models.
  • WiFi will now support up to 5G. [*Not all the time]
  • GPSTransit will receive an upgrade to AVIS-GPS. This will display real-time bus locations while riding.
  • SMRT Tap will remain the same.
  • New on-board USB chargers to charge your phone. 2 ports per 2 seats.
  • LCD screens located near the front (behind the driver) and near the rear exit door with information about the current route, accessible transfers, etc. (Called AVIS-Info

#6051 will have these features and will enter service in July.

Graceful winds bring the 30th coach; finally the third line has been crossed!

For this matter, this Neoplan N1217 Cityliner has something else to celebrate this fantastic milestone - a beautiful artwork for those on buildings, overhanging bridges and high terraces to admire - on the roof, designed by KateWind studio.

This coach has 49 seats, instead of the usual 56, for more legroom and possibility to safely recline them - all equipped with the Funtoro standard interactive screens.

They can also be easily and quickly swapped for 37 extra large sofas, equipped by the all new and revolutionary Pioneer interactive screens, which allow passengers to surf the Web and even is compatible with all external media storages from cell phones to flash disks, via the USB port and by Bluetooth.

This coach is powered by a 520hp Mercedes-Benz engine with Bluetec6 technology, like most of the other more modern Neoplan models.

Hull art is Hino Rei/Sailor Mars from Sailor Moon.

I like the bus and the skin, I'm a fan of Sailor moon as well. I actually made a Repaint Pack of all the Sailor Scouts for a bus simulator called OMSI 2.

KAGUYA News.

「Re: Zero」 fans, rejoice!!

Rem, Ram and Emilia will finally be featured on three sumptuous vehicles, respectively two Mitsubishi Fusou AeroQueen for the sisters, and a huge surprise regarding Emilia's one.

But what will make them apart from the rest, is that these will feature the next level of lavishness: inside, they are adorned with 25 large seats made up with the finest tissues in the world, including satin, alcantara and linen; they will also feature matching color hues for each of the characters through the linen upholstery - blue for Rem, light pink for Ram and platinum white for Emilia - with armrests and other parts made with mahogany wood, with same wood decorating the center corridor floor and the front and rear pillars.

All three also feature restrooms adorned with fine marble and 24 carat gold coated knobs, towel holders and toilet details, such as the flush button.

The exterior chrome parts are also coated with 24 carat gold.

These three are expected to cost as much as 734,000,000 JPY and 903,000,000 JPY - equivalent to 6.5 million USD for each AeroQueen and 8 million USD for the surprise model - probably making these the most expensive coaches in the world.

Two main reasons for such astronomical prices rest on the gold coating, marble and mahogany required for the job, and the fact we insisted the vehicles be made within the world top artisan crafters for perfect and minute detailing only human beings can do.

These marvels could only be possible with the amazing popularity our fleet has been experiencing and the revenues of our equally popular superyacht fleet, which engrossed amazing returns of about 89,150,000,000 JPY, equivalent to 790,000,000 USD in one single year, also enough to pay the maintenance of all the superyacht and highway bus fleets, a salary increase, a slight increase in overall expenses aimed at even better services and finally, donating about 50,000,000 JPY to national charity centers and saving up more for our biggest endeavour to date, the successful building and launch of our first cruise liner, to be at least five times larger that Japan's current biggest cruise liner, the 50,142 GRT Nippon Yusen Kaisha owned and operated 「ASUKA II」.

Curious also, I took exactly the Citaro G to make a comemorative 20th Anniversary livery design upon the real Kanagawa Twin Liner model.

From the blueprints to the assembly line, the three 「Re: Zero」 special vehicles are being built!

The custom 24k gold parts, pre-cut mahogany and marble, the custom seats, entertainment hardware, among other custom parts have come; so as we finished building the three skeleton frames - 2x Mitsubishi Fusou AeroQueen and 1x Neoplan N5216 Starliner.

Now comes the time of putting all these parts together with extreme care, precision and, of course, the same love these characters would show us.

Stay tuned, and watch as three of the world's most expensive and lavish highway liners take shape!

Additionally, our newly appointed team of marine architects and invited engineers started drawing the concepts and their respective blueprints for our massive cruise ship endeavor; plans call for two designs and three sizes for each, with GRTs varying from 140,000t to 270,000t, of which one design and one size will then be chosen through pre-studied contingencies, such as estimated affluences and worldwide appeal - though we have been receiving quite positive feedback at both national and international level, especially national, China, Australia, and some countries in Europe and most of the southern US states - with further options to add a second, third, even a fourth vessel in the future.

NanohaBus has also buses themed in the Re:Zero twin maids (Ram & Rem), but they're two New Flyer XD60 (#8329 and #Z433) articulated buses, which in their interior, looks like any other XD60 in NanohaBus-PTT or NanohaBus-UTC, much because they're urban buses, which will still have more cycles of operation than those two AeroQueens, in my opinion.

NanohaBus (then-Elfen TH) chose the XD60 because it looked nicely with the design of the New Flyer's Xcelsior line of buses (but I think that NanohaBus could also do it in the XD40 bus too).

We once tried city/intercity services, but they ended up not being as popular, especially the 「Ridge Cruiser」 first class intercity service.

North American vehicles in our fleet are an omen, as one MCI model we still operate demonstrated; constant mechanical problems and poorly developed electric circuitry made us revamp everything mechanics and electrical system from zero, by replacing the engine with a Mercedes-Benz and have our specialized team project a fully taylored electric plant.

It is a miracle this vehicle stayed, thanks to some customers expressing their interest in boarding/hiring a North American vehicle.

The modifications paid off nevertheless, but our deal with Motor Coach Industries, other two North American manufacturers and the Chinese Anhui Ankai ended, with MCI being the first after just two months of insufficient quality and a refusal in authorize building of their vehicles in our installations with better materials and methods.

NanohaBus-PTT's (non-COP 10) MCI J4500s are stated to be replaced with either MCI D4500CTs or more Prevost X3-45s commuter coaches mostly because of those problems (the NanohaBus-PTT's X3-45s are doing better, thank god). Plus, it seems that the J4500 is not suitable for transit-style commuter express routes like NanohaBus-PTT has (not talking about the COP 10 routes). NanohaBus is planning to reworking the electric circuitry & use them to replace the latter-built G4500s which both NanohaBus-PTT COP 10 and Greyhound Lines PT have in the fleet and replace the units inside the NanohaBus-PTT COP 1, 4, 5 and 9 with proper commuter coaches (either D4500CT or X3-45) will suit much better to the recommended duty cycle of the J4500 coach.

  • 5 Blue Bird Ultra LMBs. Built in 2004, have Cummins ISB engines and Allison LCT 2000 Series transmissions. No destination signs. Any price.
  • 5 ElDorado National EZ-Rider IIs. Built in 2005, have Cummins ISB engines and Allison B300R5 transmissions. Luminator Signs. Any Price
  • 5 ElDorado National Passport-HDs. Built in 2011, have Navistar MaxxForce 7 engines and Allison 3000 PTS transmissions. Axion Signs. Any Price.
  • 5 ElDorado National Axess 35's. Built in 2016, have Cummins ISL9 engines and Allison B400R6 transmissions. Luminator Signs. Any Price.

If the remaining buses have not been scraped, LVTA would like to buy them.
